The Mitchell Midgets'eliminated
the Wingham boys •7-4 in the
W.O.A.A. Midget "C" playoffs, Mit-
chell won the best -of -three series
two games straight. Final name
was played here on Wednesday.

and Bob Rintoul both walked. Pete

N/Ingham held the lead until the
fourth inning, when Mitchell.start-
ed a big rally and scored ail sev-
en runs. Sherwood' singled, Keyes
smashed a double, 'McKellar hit
into a fielder's choice to score
Sherwood. Marsh &SO hit into a
fielder's choice to ,score Keyes.
Boyd singled to score McKellar
and Marsh. East singled to score
Boyd and Morrey singled and
Sherwood came up for the second
time in the same inning. to single
and score East and Morrey.
In the fifth inning Wingham boys
fought back to score two runs.
Waxy Walker walked, Bob Ste.
Marie was hit by a pitched ball
and both or the runners scored on
an overthrow. In' the ninth in,

the bases but Mitchell's pitcher,
Sherwood, struck out Wingham's

Gerry Sherwood was on the

• The Benmiller Intermediates
edged the Wingham team 9-8 in a
thrilling contest played in the
town park on Thursday night,
Benmiller \opened the scoring
When L. Willis singled. D. Willis
singled to score t. Willis and Tom
McPhee hit into a fielder's choice
to Score D. Willis. In the third in-
- ning Benmiller scored one more
run when L. Willis tripled and Tom
McPhee singled him home.
• Wingham pushed across five
:Alms in the .4th frame. Jerry Fry-
fogle singled, Lorne Gardner and
Ken Hodgkinson walked and Jim
Bain got on' base on an error to
score Fryfogle. Ken Cerson smash-
ed a grand slam home rim.
In the seventh 'inning 13eximiller
tied ,the score at 5-5. .E, Jenkins
got on base on an emir. D. Willis
walked, Tom McPhee singled. Pit-
cher Walt Brown walked the next
two batters to force in two runs.
In the bottom of the seventh
frame Wingham went ahead mo-
mentarily. Bob Oswald singled and
Barry Fryfogle tripled to score
Oswald.
In the eighth Benmiller scored
runs, L. Willis singled, 0 Willis
walked and Leh Jenkins knocked
a circuit smash to score three runs,
Benmiller Scored another min, in
the ninth inning when 'Jack Mer-
riam tripled and Herman Fisher
singled to snore Merriam.
The Wingham boys fOught back
In the ninth inning to score two
runs, Bruce 'Lott doubled, and
pinch -hitter Gerd Welwood walked.
Barry Fryfogle ]aced out his see-
ond triple Elf the game to Score
