FORDWICH—Mrs. Clare 'Harris
was hostess for the Fordwich Wo-
men's t.Institute. Devotions were
taken by Mrs. Mark Armstrong.
Mrs, William Campbell gave the
motto, "Cheerfulness, contentment
and smiles help to make a happier
world". The roll call was answered
by "What I Do for the Blues". •
The secretary read a• letter from
the Red Cross swimming commit-
tee and a donation of $10.00 was
made to this cause. A committee
was named to look after the pro-
ject and booth for the fall fair. Mrs.
Clare Harris and Mrs. Anson Dem-
erling were chosen as delegates to
the convention to be held in Guelph
in September.
Mrs, W. S. McKee of Gowans-
town was guest speaker and gave
some very helpful demonstrations
on artificial respiration, also CM
first aid, regarding torniquets and
the bandaging 'of broken bones.
She was Presented with a gift, Miss.
Minnie McElwain favored with
piano selections.

showed films which were very in-
teresting, Mrs. Norman Wade, of
Gorrie, conducted a contest. Mn,
and Mrs. Russell were presented
with a slim of money from each of
the churches, Mrs. Harry King of
Gorrie reading the address. Mrs.
Gordon Underwood, also of Gorrie,
on 'behalf of the W.A., presented
Mrs. Russell with a teapot. Mr.
and Mrs. Russell thanked everyone
and lunch was served to bring the
evening to a close.

last week, with relatives in the

two weeks at the home of Mr. and
