the Golf bridge. The winners were:
First, Mrs. A. J. Wilson, second,
Mrs. H. C; MacLean; and the ,my-
4'9 Prize went to Mrs. ISbis-
ter. Last. ThutSday afternoon six
tables were in play and the prize
winners were: first, Mrs, Stanley
Smith, of Guelph; second, , Mrs.
A, 3, ,WilSon, and the mystery prize
was won by Miss. C. Isbister,
Bill Hotchkiss' fired two-hit
ball and strtick out nine in a Win
for the Wingham Intermediates
over the Benmiller Intermediates
7-4. This win gave a.one-game lead
in the` -best-of-seven -series. 'The
game was played Wednesday .of
last week.
Be/Milner scored two runs in
the first inning when L, Willis and
Willis both got on base on two
successive errors. Len Jenkins
singled' to score L. Willis and T.
Thompson scored D.' Willis on a
•stierifice. Wingliarn..cut the '
score to 2-1 in •the second, inning on
Ken Hodgkinson's home run.
In the fourth inning Wingharn
went ahead 3-2 on Jerry Fryfogle's
double. Brace Lott scored Fryfogle
with a single and Jim scored
Lott on a sacrifice fly; 13eniniller
tied the score in the sixth inning
When Tom. McBee walked and scor-
ed on an error. L, Willis smashed
a home run for Benmiller in the
seventh to take, the lead 44
Wingharn came' through with the
winning runs in the eighth inning,
when ,Pirn Bain walked, Ken Hodg-
kinson and Ken Carson singled and
Lorne Gardner drove 'them home
with a triple. Berry Fryfogle sacri-
ficed Gardner home. -
Len Joinitins was on, the slab for
Benmiller, giving „up' six hits and
striking out ten. Benmiller had one
error while Wingham committed
four errors.
