her two years ago.
Mrs. Field was a faithful mem-
ber of the Wingnana 'United
Church, was a life member of the
Women's Missionary Society, a
member of the Women's Institute
and of the Hospital,,Amtiliary,
Surviving are three' sons, Arthur
Field, Lambeth; Dr, John W.
Field, Manchester, Conn.; Frank
Field, TeesWater; and three daugh-
ters, Mrs. James (1-felen) Kerrigan,
Mildmay; Mrs. George (Mildred)
Carroll, Brantford and Mrs. Jack
(Edith) Robertson, Stayner, There
are fifteen grandchildren and - one.
great-grandchild,
Funeral ,service was held at the.

Mr. Albert Dustow, who was a
patient in the Wingham, Hospital,
suffering from pneumonia, was
able to return home on Friday.

for appendicitis in the Listowel
Memorial Hospital on Thursday

the Winghani General Hospital on
Sunday, August 11 in his 18th year.

ried the,' former Annie Walsh of

survives with one son, Hebert,
James and one daughter Alberta
(Mrs. J. Smith) ,both of Morris
Township. There are also six
grandsons, Rtibert E. McMurray of .
Toronto; Donald and Gordon of
'Wingbana; William, Robert and
Murray Smith of Brussels.
The late Mr, Melltirray '*was a
member of Beigraye LO.L, No. 462
for 60 years and was made an hon-
orary member on Jply 12, 4949,
Funeral services were' conducted
at Ilia late residence Turnberry
Street, Brussels on Wednesday,
Auguat 14th at 2.30• p.m. by the
Rev. F, E. Jewell, rector of St.
;John's Anglican Church.

Council Gets Results

Councillor Hamilton reported
for the industrial committee that
he had met, with J. W. Hanna and
Mr. Armstrong, of-Ontario House,
London, England, and an inspect-
ion of the town had been made.
He also reporte,d 'that Mr.. Arm-
strong had been favorably impres-
sed with the town. Mr. Armstrong
is at present on a fact-finding tour
of Ontario to help British In-
dustrialists to find suitable lo-
cations for projects in Ontario.
Councillor Gorbutt, for the' Re-
creation Council, reported that the
summer recreatien program was
going well. More than 150 children,
took the swimming instruction
course at Teeswater.
An application for, renewal of a
license for a car-wrecking estab-
lishment for Jos. Clark was pre-
sented, together with a fee of
$1.00. 25 was agreed that this be
held over until a )full Membership
of the council was on hand..
Bridge Examined
Reeve ,Adair reported that the
County Engineer, Mr. 13ritnell, had
examined the abutments of the
bridge at Howson's dam, along
with Deputy Reeve Kerr and it had
been recommended by the engineer
that a. firm in London he consulted
as to the best type of repair which
could be made. It 'was agreed at
the meeting that' the town clerk
write to the firm on this matter.
Applications for building per-
mits from A. C. Adams, Rev.
W. D. Clark, Walter Pocock and
U. Moszkowska, were approved,
A motion "that the mayor and
clerk be authorized to accept a
deed of Lot 8, from Mr. Jermyn
and that we,deed over to him the
one-half of Lot 7 and 16 feet of
Lot 8 and that the town reserves
the right' to have access and re-
pair the drain on Lot 8 at any
