The Kincardine Midgets edged
the .Wingham Midgets 10-9 in the
first game of a best of five series,
one game to nothing. Kincardine
took the lead 2-0 in the first inning
when B, Bennett led off with 'a
single and scored an overthrow.
Earl Blom.' also scored on an error.
In the top of the second. Wing-
ham scored two runs when Pete
Nesmith singled, Bob Ste. Marie
walked and Ray Walker doubled,
to bring 'in two runs. Kincardine
also scored two runs in the second
inning, when M, McPherson doub-
led and scored on an error, B,
Bennett also scored on an error.
In the third inning' Wingham
scored one run when - Wayne
Brown walked and scored on a
sacrifice fly by Pete Nesmith,
Kincardine scored three inns in
the fourth inning on 5 walks and
a fielder's choice.
Wingham rallied in the fifth when
Bob Rintoul got on, on an error,
Pete Carmichael walked and Pete
Nesmith knocked them.hOme with
a double. In the -top of the eighth
Wingham went ahead -b‘.:g
tarily, Jack Hotchkiss scored on
an error. Bob Rintoul walked and
scored when Wayne Brown hit into
an ,error. Pete Carmichael singled
to score' Brown.
In the bottom of the sixth Kin-
cardine fought back to score two
runs' to win the game.
Bev, MacLean went the distance
for Kincardine, striking out twelve
and giving up' 5 hits: Kineardin,
had. three errors. • Wayne Brown
lasted almost five innings for
Wingham, giving up four hits while
striking out four. Jack Hotchkiss
went the rest of the distance giv-
ing up two hits. Wingham com-
mitted seven errors.

Wins King Trophy
Twenty-five rinks competed in
the annual bowling event for the
King Trophy at the Windham
bowling green oil Wednesday, Win-
ners were Mrs, E, C. Ludwig, Mrs,
IT, Dettmer and Mrs. A. Watson, of
Kitchener.
The trophy was presented to
Mrs, Ludwig, who skipped the rink,
by Miss Ann Geddes, of Wingharn,
on behalf of Edighoffers Clothing
store, the sponsons of the trophy
centeat. .
