Mr. Harris Purdon, who has
been at Elliott Lake, motored
home en Saturday with Cameron
Dunlo of Kincardine. On Sun-

meeting of the W.M.S. of the Pres:
byterian Church 'was. held' on Wed-
nesday at the. home of Mrs. Geo.
Fishers with 15 ladies and five
children present. Mrs. Fisher pre-
sided. Mrs. R. A. Marshall
read the Scripture lesson from
Matthew 19, and 'led in the medi-
tation period, speaking' on steward-
ship and how we can be good
Christians, using time, talents, and
money for Christian service. Mrs,
James McIlrath sang ,"Fight ,the
Good Fight" and Mrs. James Mc,.
Tnnis led in prayer.., =
Mrs.- Gordon Elliott, Mrs. Earl,
Caslick, Mrs. A. Gaunt, and Mrs.
Ewart McPherson had charge of
the topic on "Stewardship", re-
lating it to work, in the' home,
church, and community. 'Mrs. 0,
Fisher led in the Glad Tidings
prayer. The ladies decided to as-
sist in the work of the London and
Hamilton, Synodical in re-furnish-
ing the Pen-mar-vian Ijome for
older church members at Paris.
Mrs. Dawson Craig closed the
meeting, when all repeated the
Lord's prayer. All enjoyed the
social half-hour and lunch. •

For Newlyweds
FORDWICH—A presentation was
held on Friday night in the Ford-
wich hall in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Wilding (nee Joan Demer-
ling), newlyweds.
An address was read by Marjorie
Foster and the young couple were
given a hostess chair, floor lamp,
table lamp and several other gifts.
The 'bride and groom both made
suitable replies. Music for danc-
ing was supplied by the Fordwich
orchestra.

KITCHENER TRIP
FORDVVICH—The July meeting
of the Fordwich Women's Institute
took the forth of a bus trip to. Kit-
chener on TueSday, July 16th,'
Thirty-Seven members enjoyed the
outing. They had dinner in Vic-,
teria Park and then toured , the
city, visiting • the rock gardens,
which are quite beautiful. They
then Went through Weston's fac-
tory; where they were treated to
doughnuts and soft drinks,
The next strip was at the TV
studio, where all sat In on a lawn
party with Mrs. Scriver and again
Were treated to the foods prepar-
ed on her program and saw them-
selves on TV, The ladies were
taken on a tour of CICCO and MrS,
SCriver also Made some draws for
frozen dinnerri, The winners were
Alta, Edith Witiner, Mrs. Glen
Martin, Mrs. Howard Harris end
