greens,' flags and old pictures for
the reunion held in connection
with the Turnberry Centennial..
One hundred . and fifty registered.
Fortner pupils fromdistant points
were from Vancouver, ° Detroit,
Sudbury, London, Brantford. and
Windsor.
The afternoon was spent in rem-
iniscing over past memories. Prizes
were presented to Wm. Knox, of
Brussels, the oldest person present;
Mr. and .Mrs. Andrew Douglas,
Gorrie, being: the oldest married
couple present;' Mrs, John Simpson
(nee Ella Scott,) Vancouver;.°being
the person coming, the farthest. dis-

Packers at Harriston, where .they
saw ice cream. and popsicles being
made. - :The, Fiscber poultry -farm
at Ayton and' the trout hatchery
at Chatsworth were also visited.
They had lunch at ,Harriston Park
in Owen Sound and saw interest-
ing points'in the city. From there
they • drove along Georgian Bay `to
Collingwood, where they • toured
Smart's canning factory and - saw
rhubarb and strawberries being
canned: On the' trip home they
saw the 'Devil's Glen"' and Eu-
genia Falls and 'power house.

Dies in Alberta
GQRRIE—Mrs. ' Courtney Gilpin
has received word of the sudden
death at Viking, Alberta, on June
24th, of Albert Gilpin. He was, a
former Howick resident. He went
to the West shine 50 years ago and
had farmed near Viking. He was
unmarried.
