a poem, "pur Garden" by Mrs. J.

Resident Dies
Monday eveniag, Jime 10th, at the
home of her son, Alex Marshall, in
Stratford, of Elizabeth Marshall,
widow of the late William Hi, Mar-
shoall. In fatling health for the
last two years, 'he was confined
to bed only three dayS, 4
She was a„ dasighter of the late
james Wright and Lydia Wismer
and was born at Molesworth Dee.
9th, 1872, being IA her 8Sth year,
On January 15th, 1908, she was
married to William n. Marshall,
who predeceased her in May, 1952,
She had resided at Wroxeter, Blue-
vale and on a farm near Genann-
an before corning to Gerrie in 1937,
where she yeed until 1951. At that
time sne Went to Stratford to rnake
her tome with her eon, A
She was a member of St: Steph-
en's Anglican Church, Gorrie, and
of the Woman'S Auxiliary, in which
she was a, faithful Dored worker
for 17 years,
Surviving are one son, Alex, (A'
Stratford; one step-daughter, Mrs,
Bertha Vance, London; a sister,
Mrs. Wes Jarmyn, Brussels, and
one grandson. A con, James, died
in 1928 at the age of 21.
Funeral service was at the Moir
funeral home, Carrie, on TM-us-
day afternoOn at 2.30 The Rev.
F. E. Russell of the Anglican
Church, was in charge of the ser-
vice and interment was in Wrox-
eter cemetery. Pallbearers were
Melvyn Jainlyn, Jack Willits, Wal-
ter Willits, Harry Wright, Boyd
Marshall, Mervyn Marshall.
The Woman's Auxiliary of St.
Stephen's Church will meet for
their June gathering en, Friday
June 21st at 2.30 p.m. at the home
of Mrs. Ted Newton. The theme
for the meeting and for roll call
is "Ilistoy of a' Hymn".

Meeting Held
ST, HELENS—The June meeting
of St, Helens Women's Institute
was held at the community hall pn
Tuesday, June 1.1s It was Grand-
mothers' Day and the roll call was
answered by bringing a grandmo-
ther and introducing her. There
were 17 ladies and three children
present. ,
The financial report was given,
showing cash on hand of $239i60.
Two songs were sung, "Down by
the Old Mill Stream" and ,41When
You Wore a Tulip". Mrs. Charles
McDonald gave a reading„"When
Grannie's Heart Rules Ifer Head".
Mrs. Elwood Barbour, gave a
very good report of the district an-
nual at Bemniller. Mrs. WA,
ler read the motto, which was pre-
pared by Miss Mary Murray, "Old
Age is just a new page upon which
you can write life's noblest chap-
ter".
Miss W. D. Rutherford had
charge of the topic which was
"What's Good about the Good `Old
Days?"
A gift was presented to Mrs. Cyr-
il Campbell for the grandmother
corhing the 'farthest and to Mrs.
Simon de Boer for the grandmoth-
er with the biggest waistline. A
dainty lunch was served by the
hostesses, Mrs, Ross Gammie, Mrs,
Ross Errington and 'Mrs. E. W.
Rice.
