Alitin Hastings' led in prayer.
Following the minutes and roll ,call,
a letter was read with reference to
the training conference to be held
at''' Albert, College, Belleville, in
July. Mrs. D. Rae read an...inter-
esting letter from Mrs. Gordon;
missionary ,• in Formosa. Reports
of the Presbyterial at Melesworth
were. given by Miss Agnes Mitchell

Marian Williamson. Miss 'Frances

The topic on "The Philippines"
was, presented by Mrs ,B. Holmes

vention, which was held in St,
Thanes, May 17, was read: by Mrs,
H. Ross and Mrs. J. Hapna, who
were accompanied to the conven-
tien by Mrs, W. Lockridge, Mrs, J.
Ernest and Mrs, Fitzpatrick.
A discussion followed , the read- •
ing, when it was. decided to con-
tmue sending bales of used cloth-
ing to an Indian settlement in
Maniteba.
This was the last meeting till the

bride's mother, gowned in a dress
of pcnyder blue lace over nylon taf-
feta with white accessories and
a corsage of pink carnations, re-
ceived the 60 guests. She was as-
sisted by the groom's mother, who
wore a grey figured terylene and
corsage of pink and white carna-
tions.
The dining hall was beautifully
_decorated with white bells and
mauve and white honeysuckle.
The luncheon was served by six
girl friends of the bride, Misses
Rena McClinchey, Christena Cun-
ningham and Lila Daer of Auburn,
Miss Violet Cook, BeIgrave, Miss
Eileen Wright, Lonclesboro and
Mrs, Lois Snell, London. The kit-
chen convener was., Mrs. Stewart
unment, assisted by Mrs. Bert Doer
and Miss - Viola Thompson.
A toast to the bride and groom
by Rev. R. S. Hiltz and responded
to by the groom and a toast to the
bridesmaids by Murray Lyon. A
telegram of congratulations was
received from Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Crawford.
For a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls, United States and the Thou-
sand Islands the bride wore a two-
piece duster suit dress in Maypole
blue figured terylene with a nubby
weave linen coat, white accessories
and an orchid corsage.
The groom's gift to the bride
was a lovely cedar chest, while the
bride gave a Gladstone bag to the
groom. The attendants received
billfolds-
Guests were present from Palm-
erston, Goderich, Holmesville, Kirk-
tort, Shakespeare, Sarnia, Stfat-
'" ford and other points. -
On their return Mr. and Mrs,
Lyon- will reside on the groom's
farm in Hullett Township. The
bride is a graduate of the Wing-
ham. Hospital arid has been employ-
ed for some time at the Clinton
Hospital.

TESTS TO MOTHERS
CO Leaders Pave Cameron and
Bill Rintoal and several other Cubs
were present at the regular meet-
ing of the Scouts' and. Cubs' Auxi-',
liary meeting held at St. Paul's
Anglican Church on Wednesday
evening.
The Cubs demonstrated to the
Mothers the different' tests that
are passed to obtain their first and
second stars. Taking part were
Charles Keating, Phillip Mans,
'Darryl Gibson, Jim Nesmith, John
Campbell, John Bennett and Allan
Leggett. The president, Mrs,
Fuller, thanked the boys for being
present.
The Auxiliary decided to pur-
chase 150 'Saugeen and District
badges to be distributed among the
Scouts, and CUlts and to order fotir
dozen 'haedbooks, and 10 feet of
'rope for the Cubs. A donation will
also be made to Byron Adams to-
ward his trip to England,to attend
the Scout Jamboree.

light lunch served by the group in
