speaker giving a brief insight into
'the life of a. missionary's wife
Mrs, Angus MacKay of the Jhansi
Mission, India,- spoke -him the
wealth of her experience of those
things which have changed and
those things which have° continu-
ed constant in India in the • last
twenty-five . years. "A. missionary ,
going into India today must love
the native people' ' must undertake
his tasks with a large measure of,
umility and be willing to be one,
of •the people, yet a Vest of the -
Indian government"- she • said.
"Many things have changed in
India, but the task of the - mis;-
sionary, to witness .where God.

Wed in Hamilton
Allen Curtis Charlton. claimed
Dorothy Anne Broughton as his
bride on Saturday in a double-ring
ceremony at Zion United- Church,
Hamilton.
The bride, daughter. of Mrs. Lil-
lian E, Sankey, Brantford, wore
a ,gown of nylon sheer with cap
sleeves trimmed withlace, Layers
' of nylon` sheer formed the.bouf-
fant skirt panelled with lace, and ,
extendihg into a chapel train. She
carried a cascade of roses.
The bridesmaids were gowned,
alike in embroidered taffeta frocks
and carried corsages of white and
yellow roses.
Ronald Lee of Toronto was best
man. The ushers were four school-
mates of the bridegrooin. •
Mrs. Sankey chose a dress of
blue organdy and had a corsage of
pink and white orchids. The bride-
groom's mother wore a powder
blue linen dress with white acces-
sories and her corsage was of pink
orchids.
Sixty guests greeted the couple
at a reception held in •the Marine
Room of Roberts Restaurant and
the receiving line formed between
tables arranged in an open square
'Pattern.
After a short wedding trip Mr,
a/id Mrs. Charlton will reside in
Hamilton.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs, Walter Charlton of Wingharn.

in Listowel on April 9 11, Were
presented by the delegates, Mrs,
Bird,-Kincardine; Mrs. S., Rob-
inson, Gorrie; Mrs. J. Little,
Lucknow; Miss Carr, Dungan-
non; Mrs. L, Moffatt, Langside
and Mrs, C. Thompson, Oranbropit.

and to the Molesworth ladies -for
their hospitality.
In her closing words Mrs: Hend-
erson urged the members to under-
take a stewardship' of their time,
talents, and treasury in this year.

A shower was held at the Lei
gion home op Wednesday everdtlg
to honor Miss Jean Bain, whose
marriage took place on Saturday.
Tbe home was attractively. deCor-
ated •with spring flowers -and a
beautiful array of gifts was. pre-
sented to thebride-elect, who ex-
pressed her thanks to the friends

The couple came to Canada in
1909 from London, England, where

3:897. They have lived in Lower
Wingham for the past 38 years.
Mrs. Bailey -is the former Eliza;
beth Chiddicks.
On coming to this country they
first settled in Holyrood; Ontario,
and remained' there until moving
to Lower Wingharn, Mr. Bailey,
now, retired, workqd as a laborer
during his earlier years.
OP Sunday about 70 guests, in-.
eluding 14 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren, were, prqsent
to entertain Mr. and tMrs, Bailey
on the lawn of their Lower Wink-
ham home.
Mr. and Mrs. BaileY have three
Children, all living in London,
Ontario. They are, Joseph Bailey
Jr,, Frederick Henry Bailey and
Louise Jane (Mrs. L. Vanner),
