Ruth Coultas read the "Scripture lesson from ¥Viatthew, chapter 28, Mrs, Robinson led in the reading of the Easter story with Mrs, Norman Cat It x es giving iv'n g the responsive read- +ings, Mrs, Coultas? also ,told ' the story of the crucifixion and the j pallier bos sang,"Tell ,Me the t. Stories of jeans". Mrs. Ed Smyth' told the story of the empty tomb and Mrs, Clarence Chamney told the, Mission :Band Story, 'Be Was There", Mrs. Norman Coulees led in pray- er, Jimmy Taylor' and Hugh ,Me- $urnoy took up the offering, Mrs, Gilbert Beecroft attd, Mrs, Gordon McBurney 'showed slides on "Sun- day Around the World" with Mrs. Robertson reading the comritentary, Sandra Chamney sang "The Robe of Calvary" and Mrs, McBarney "told a, temperance, story y from The Upper Room. Mrs. Coultes presided.' for the business meeting and the ladies de- cided to hold a special W.M.S. meeting in conjunction with the anniversary services and to have a special speaker - for the occasion.. They also agreed to hold the meet= ings in the evenings for the sum- mer months. Mrs, Coultas closed the meeting with -the ;benediction. Lunch was served and a social timespent REI. R A. BROOK ADDRESSES WENS WHITECHURCH -- Mrs. James Falconer; presidentof the Woman's Missionary Society of the United Church, presided for the Easter Thankoffering meeting held last Wednesday evening in the church. The ladies from St. Helens Church and from the W.M.S. of , the Pres- byterian Church here were guests. Mrs. Falconer gave the call to worship . and Mrs. J, D. Beecroft read the Easter 'message from Mat- thew, chapter 28 and John; chap- ter 20, telling of ,the birth of the Christian Church. Mrs. , Millan Modre led in prayer. Mrs. Ed Rice sang "Love So Divine Brought My Saviour Down" and Mrs. Ezra Scholtz led in the offertory prayer. Rev. R. A. Brook was the speaker of the evening and gave an interest- ing and dnspiring talk on the companionship of Jesus. "He is go- ing before you into Galilee." Mr Brook said that His love teaches us how to understand each other better. He has been a guide for missionaries and for W.M.S. groups in every church, in every land and at all times. Mrs. John McGee sang,' "When I Survey the Wondrous Gross". and Rev: Brook closed the meeting with prayer and the benediction. Lunch was served in the Sunday School room and ali cnjo'ed a social time. WHITECHURCH Mrs. Galt and her daughter of Toronto spent last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Richard- son. Misses Florence and Margaret Moir of Toronto also spent a few daysithere last week. Neighbors and friends of Miss Beverley Casemore of Wingham, a May bride-to-be, held a ,miscella- nkous shower for lief at ilia home of Mrs. Dan Tiffin on Tuesday evening, Misses Pearl and Irene Paton of Toronto spent :two days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs: Geo. Coultes. Mr, Adam. McBurney had his household effects moved last week from his home at Kingston to the former Porterfield farm on the Oth of E. Wawanosh, which he ,par'- chased from Murray McDowell.
