chose a blue suit with white ac-
cessories and wore a corsage' of
pink roses.
.She was attended by her cousin,
Mi.ss Edna Deer, as bridesmaid,
who chose a grey suit with pale
blue accessories and wore a cor-
sage of pink roses. '
Hugh Campbell of Bluevale
was his brother's groomsman.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents
where lier mother, gowned in
navy blue sheer and a corsage
of red roses, received the guests.
The bride's table was centred
with a.beautiful three-tiered wed-
ding cake flanked on • each side
with lighted candles and pink
arid white streamers. The buffet
luncheon was served by Misses
Lila and Ellee Deer, cousins of

the:Foidwich United Church met
at. the parsonage for an evening
meeting with Rev, and Mrs. W. J.
Bird as the host and hostess.
Mrs, S, K. Graham, president and
Mrs. Parker Eurig, secretary
presided.
The meeting opened with quiet
music played by Miss Violet Bee-
Witherick Thoughts on the resur-
rection were read followed with
a prayer and hymn. The minutes
were read and the business was
discussed, A bale is to be pack-
ed later in May,
The roll call, "An Easter Mes-
sage" was answered by 4.1 mem-

Church here was the scene of
candlelight service on Saturday
evening, April 20th at seven
o'clock when Rev. J. W. Hlrd
officiated 'for the double ring
ceremony, uniting ine marriage
Marianne Jean Doig and J.
Harvey Bride of Toronto, The
bride is the daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Harold L, Doig of Fordwich,
and the groom is tee son of Mr.
Carman Bride of Caledonia,
formerly of Fordwieh, and the
late Mrs, Bride.
Given in marriage by her
rather, the bride entered the
church to wedding music played
by William Wallacc„ of Toronto,
She wore an imported French
lace gown over deep lustre satin,
fashioned on princess lilies, the
- full skirt ending in a deep nylon
tulle flounce, The low neckline
was finished with draped tulle
caught with seed pearls and her
lace bolero bad long, lily-point
sleeves. A pearl encrusted lace
headdress held her finger-tip
veil and sere carried a cascade
bouquet of calla lilies centred
with orchid florets, combined
with white and mauve baby
mums,
Miss Shirley Ashton of London
was made of honor and the
bridesmaids were Mrs. Jack Rid-
dell of Teviotdale and Miss Joyce
Nicoll of Palxnerston. They were
gowned alike le orchid erystalette
over -taffeta, pearl headcircessee
with circular shoulder veils and
carried cascades of deep mauve
shasta mains.
The soloist was Miss Janette
Valiance of Atwood.
Lorne Bride of Niagara Falls,
brother of the groom, was best
man and Edward Doig, brother
of the bride and Mare McIntosh
'of Brussels were ushers.
Following the ceremony a re-
ception was held in the church
parlors. The bride's mother wore
a Dior lace dress with pink
accessories and a pink rose cor-
sage, She was assisted . by the
groom's aunt, Miss Margaret
Spence, who wore a printed
sheath dress and coat ensemble
lni ava.eado green with beige and
bronze accessories. Her corsage
was ,of yellow roses.
For the wedding trip to Wash-
ington, D.C., the bride wore a
navy Dolman suit with mauve
accessories and an orchid cor-
sage,

Toronto University and the bride
of ,Stratford Teachers' College.
They are both teaching at Scar-
borough and Will live in Toronto.

Progressive euchre were in play
at the community hall, Fordwich,
on Tuesday night, Those in
charge were, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Deitz, Mr. and Mrs, Ira Schaefer
and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Winston.

banquet on Monday night in the
basemente of the Fordwich United
Church, Forty men and boys
sat down to supper, served by
the C.G.I.T,
A prograin of toasts and other
numbers was presided over by
Jim. Doig. After the toast to the
e Queen, a toast to the Church was
made by Fraser Pollock and Rev.
J. W. Hind made the .reply. The
`fathers were toasted by Bobby
Bride and the reply was given by
Retold Pollock, Stan Bride gave
the toast to the' boys and John
Wilson replied. '

away ht Listowel 'Memorial Hoe-
pital on Friday;' April 19,
