Behind the scenes, study and
research goes on day after day to ,
combat illness. Using the new
weapons and techniques that are
being developed', our hosilitals 'are
constantly • ipproVing the already
high standard of patient care
, To keep abreast of the discov-
eries and 'developments of science
and 'medicine, hospitals have to
have an extensive and costly in
ventory of equipment for ''a wide
variety of uses.,
These inventories are, constant-
being changed due to IMprove-
_nients in certain. types of equip-
ment and being enlarged because
of 'new Weapons to combat sick-
nesS and disease,
Just recently an announcement
was Made of a new type of
camera, so small it can be swal-
lowed by an average person, Its
purpose-is to take pictures' of the
Esophagus and the stomach. If
successful it , will, undoubtedly,
become another item on every
hospital's list of equipment.
Today some hospitals are ex-
perimenting, with an improved"
type of thermometer. It has two
sections. One is like a metal
pencil, The other• part resembles
a car speedometer. Through the
action of electrical currents in
the body, a nurse dan look at the,
meter and read the body tem-
perature.

But it is 'time to think of the fan and fan belt.
Did . you knOw, for instance, that running the
