CURLING BONSPIEL . Requiem High Mass was sung in
St. lVfichael's Church, Blyth, op
(Monday morning at 10 'o'clock by
Rev. J. W. P. Graham-Clinton, the
parish priest; for Mrs. Fred_Logan,
Blyth, halo died on Thursday eve-
ning in the Wingham General Hos-
pital, wher'e she ,had been a pa-
tient -Tor' •they past eight weeks,
Mrs, Logan, who was, in her 77th
year, had been in- ill health. for sev-
eral years. -
Before .her marriage- she. was
Nellie Marie McKay, and was born
in Mayo County, . Ireland. She
'came to Canada with her parents
when only three' years old ' and
settled at Winnipeg, •
Following her marriage to Mr..
Logan 53 years ago, they farmed
near ,Birtle, Man.; until 1928, when
they came to Ontario and took up
farming in East Wawanosh and
Morris Townships until retiring to
Blyth in 1946,,
Besides her husband she is sur-
vived by two sons and. one daugh-
ter
'
, Clayton . of Moosejaw, Clifford
of Beigrave and Mrs, Don (Irene)
SchUeneman' of London; also' five
grandchildren. Pour sons and one
daughter predeceased her.
Following the service interment
was made in the Roman Catholic
cemetery, St. Augustine. 'The pall-
bearers werethree nephews, mur.
ray Logan, Crumlia, Russell and
Ellwood, Armes, Dorchester, and
three' neighbours, Harold Cook,
Ha•rvey Sillib and Norman Gowing.

The Wingham Odclfellows held
their first 'annual 'curling bonspiel
at the Wingham curling, rink on
Saturday, Mar: 9, and "it turned
out.to he a.vOry successful venture.
In all 16 rinks from ; this district
were, represented, Rinks were pre-
sent 'from 'Teeswater, PlarriSton,
Kincardine, Bolgrave, Listawol,
Ripley,•Bervie, Brussels and Wing-
ham.
In the '9 o'clock draw* a' rink
skipped by ' Stewart -Scott,' of
Winghain, won top honors, and : in
the 11 o'clock draw another Wing-
hani rinks skipped- by Alex ,Mac-
Donald, won first prize.
Dinner and lunch: for the all-
day affair were served up in fine'
style by the Rebekahs in the lodge
rooAi
During the day a draw was
made for an overnight bag, don-
ated by James Johnston, of Blue-
Vale, and won by Mrs. Jim Halli-
daY:
Brother Nelson Pickell Was in
charge of the 'spiel and did a cap-
able job of 'organizing. It'„Was de=
tided that the event should become
an annual affair.
H. Allan Ramsay
Dies in Hamilton
Friends here. were saddened to
learn of the death of H. Allan
Ramsay, who passed away in the
General Hospital, at Hamilton, on
Friday, March 22nd. Deceased was
in his 82nd Year, .
The late Mr, Ramsay .entered
the hospital on February 23rd for
major surgery, and 'apparently Was
recovering when he suffered a
turn for the Worse from ‘which he
never rallied.
l Born. in Morris ToWrialnp, a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs, Allan
Marks Ramsay, deceased was the
last surviving member of a family
of siX; two brothers, William of
Wiarton, David of Morris; Town-
ship arid three sisters, Mary (Mrs.
John Puck) of Mitchell, Miss
Elizabeth of Hurorl Township and
Mira (Mrs, Frank Woods) of
Brandon,, Manitoba.,
Mr. Ramsay went to Tara as a
young man, when 21. years of age,
and was engaged With the Tarn
Milling'Company, "
In 1903 the, deceased was 'Wilted
in Marriage to Fatly Barber of,
Tara. xn 1.011, the cool te left Tara
to reside in Chesfey, inter return-
ing to Morris Township, near
luevale, Where they farined until
he and his wife letired.to Tarn in

of the business period, when Mrs,•
Ted Fear was elected as delegate
to the, forum annual meeting to •
be held in the Royal York Hotel
in Toronto, April 2nd.
Progressive euchre was played,
with high prizes going to Mrs.
Cora McGill and Leslie .Bolt. The
consolation prizes went to Marie
Coultes and George Bacon, Most
lone hands went ,to James Coultes
and "most nothing' prize to George
Bacon.., Lunch was served and the
first meeting in the fall will be
held at the home of Mrs. Cora Mc-
pill.
SCOUT CAMPAIGN
BEGINS IN APRIL
Monday evening, April 8th, be-
gins a special fund-raising cam-
paign for the Wingham Scouts.
This year is the 50th anniversary
of the Boy Scout movement and
in Canada nearly 20,000 men and
women voluntarily give up much
of their spare time to act as
Sbutmasters, Cubmasters and Ro-
ver Leaders without payment,
Here in Wingham the Scout
movement has been well supported
in the past, and present members
and committees are doing all they
can to keep the, importance of
Scouting in the public eye.
In the next issue of The Ad-
vance-Times a special article will
be devoted to the Wingham troop
and to the public-spirited men
and women of the town who stand
behind them.

busy time last. Week. On IVIOnday
night the Intermediates won' 3-2
Over Clifford in the inter-group
finals, giving Gorrie.the champion-

Wednesday night the Bantams
also won the Championship by de-
feating Trowbridge 2-0. They
played in the Police Tournament
at Wingham, winning, the -first
game with Loadesboro, but they
lost 'out' in the `game with Clinton
on Saturday:,

time the deceased had continued

tion of a few months during the

adherent of the :United Church,
and was active in the choir; also

The funeral Services were held
on Mo,nclay afternoon t March 25th,
from the 8carrow funeral chapei,
when the minister -of the "United
Church,. Rev, a. Lawson, had
