bristled brushes on long, broom-
like 'handles. Another point of in,'
terest,was the fact that very few
typically Scottish articles of at-
tire were in evidence. Most of the
curlers were wearing butiness
suits' and there was no evidence•
of the penetrating cold with which
Canadian curler's contend. Perhaps
the Scotsmen are tougher than
their North American counter-
parts.

George Sloan, Blyth clerk; Charles
Ste. Michael, Gordon Elliott, Don-
ald Howes, Del Phillips and Bor-
den Cook, the latter two members
of the Blyth Board of Trade. Aeeve
W. H. IVforritt, of Blyth, also spoke
for his area, •
As yet no site has been finally
decided upon, but the Government
has hinted that the institution,
which will employ, about 700, will
be •in the Chatham region and
close to the city. .
In Government circles it was
pointed out that the Woodeden.
Hospital for cerebral palsied child-
ren had been transferied to Lon-
don, Doctors, it was stated by a
Government official, will not travel
long distances to handle Govern-
ment institutions.

Last week several hundred gal-
lons of feeding molasses leaked
from a storage tank in the bait-
ment of the plant, to spread inches

pioneers passed away peacefully in
her sleep early Monday morning,
in the person of Mrs: W, A. Currie.
In her 91st year, 'the late Mrs.
Currie, nee Margaret Tervit, the
datfghter of the late George and
Mary Tervit, Was born Sept. 14,
1865 In East. Wawanosh Township,
She was the solo survivor of a fam-
ily of nine and was the first of the
children to bb born in the house
built by ,her father on their home-
stead'. Her entire Ilfe was lived
in this vicinity, ' •
