Promotion Service
Held on Sunday
NEW 'OPENING TIME
FOR DO HUNTING
The attention of hunter; is bee
ing' drawn to' the fact that they
need not rise before ,dawn on
opening day • this year to sn'opt
ducks. The season opens of
on Saturday, October 0th,
at i2.Q0 teelereit noon.
This departure from the usual
opening time, one bolf hour before
sunrise, is a result of disobedience
of the rules on the part of
hunters, The moonlight sabot' at
Luther Marsh last year was a
typical example.
Strange as it may Seam, and no
doubt surprising to many hunters,
it was the hunting fraternity
themselves which asked for a
change, in the regulations on the
opening day to 12,0 o'clock noon;
Concern for hunter casualties, un-
necessary wounding of ducks, and
the general sense of fair play for,
those hunters who do obey the,
rules, made the 12.00 o'clock noon
opening an idea worth seine con-
sideration. It,: is not new to
hunters south of the . border as
they have had a similar system
for opening day for many years,
All hunters are being warned
that no excuses will be accepted
