Mrs. Gordon McBurney was ap-
pointed a delegate to the conven-
tion on SePtember. 26th at Guelph.
The ladles decided to tinvite Bel-
more InstitP.te ladies, with the
Paramount Institute " ladies to the '
October evening:meeting and bold
a penny auction, with' Mrs. Russell
Ross, Mrs. Owen King, Mrs. Thos.,
Metcalf and Mrs, Frank Ross in
charge.
The members planned to have a
bug take a load to the ploughing
match, comilV-up thisL fall and also
a bus to take in the Ice Follies this
fall in Toronto.
Mrs. Alex Rohertson and Mrs.
Gordon, McBurney sang a,. duet.
Mrs. Owen kineread`a 'paper, pre-
pared by Mrs. Nelson Pickell on
the topic, " A good citizen is not
content to `sit; he finds his place in
any community." Mrs.^ John Mc-
Gee played a piano stags and' Mrs
Milian Moore spoke en the motto,
"Hai,py Hoines lyLake- Geed , • Citi-
zens". Mrs, Harold Currie gave
several Whistling numbers.
Mrs, Johnston Conn gave the
Federated News report, and Mrs,
Berson Irwin ga've a humorous
reading. The roll call.waa answered
with little things in every-day life
that lead to good citizenship.
The meeting was dismissed with
the National Anthem.

Ordained Tuesday .
WHITECHURCH—A public ser-
vice will be held in the Presby-
terian Church on Tuesday, 'Septem-
ber 25, at 8 p.m., for the ordination
of Mr. Angus MaelCay.
Mr, MacKay and his Wife left
this district over 21 years 'ago to
serve on the mission field -at Jansi,
India, and are now On furlough.
Reighboring pastors of the Presby-
terian churches will assist in the
Service and a reception will be held
in the. Sunday School room of the
church after the service.

Four Cars Pile
Up At Whitechurch
, A four-car crash in the Village
of Whitechurdh, on Friday caused
considerable damage but • no one
was injured, •
Involved were cars driven by
Gordon Welwood, of Wingham;
Joseph Howald, of Lucknow, and
/-I. a Robertson, of Bluevale. The

northeast corner. It was un-

According to police, Welwood
was going east, turning north at
the general store, Robertson was
proceeding along the sideroad,
turning west while Howald was
