JUDGES HOLSTEINS
FORDWICH--The Howick 4-H
Calf Club held the August meet-
ing at the home of Robert Hib-
herd with the leaders, W. Camp-
bell and• John Strong in charge,
The meeting opened with the
4-H pledge, ,followed by the min-
utes of the last meeting. Fourteen
members were present and were
instructed*ori how to make a rope
halter. They also judged a Class
of-: mature Holstein cows, giving
the reasons for their choices.
..The meeting was adjourned and
lunch served.

Rains storms accusing this week
have damaged the late grain crops

more, The meeting was opened by
repeating the 4-H pledge in unison,
after Which the secretary's report
was given, 0
President Ian gimdel turned the
meeting over to one of the leaders,
Don Portune, who gave the mem-
hers a class of dairy cattle to
judge, After the judging, Don an-
nounced that three of the members
were in the top bracket ,for the
Huron County judging team. They
were Wayne Woods, Douglas Fis-
cher and Gordon Bateman.
Members were thee shown a
class of beef cattle and told to
judge them. This was a very dif-
ficult class toludge because of the
high quality of every beast.
Mr. Mulvey invited all members
and visitors to his :home where a
delicious lunch was served, .A. vote
of thanks was moved by Lotetta
Fischer, to Mt. and Mrs. MulVey
for their hospitality.
