VISITS TV STATION
WROXETER--A visit to CKNX-
TV station was a special feature
Tuesday starlight Group of the
United Chnrch, which met on the
afternoon of July 17th.
Following, a 'most interesting
tour of the station, members
watched the live program conduct-
ed by Miss Margaret Brophy, wO--
men's editor.
Mrs, Lloyd' Townsend and Mrs.
Andy Gibson were in charge and
supper was served at "the home of
Wit's. William Wright. An invita-
tion to 'a picnic at Listowel Mem-
orial Park from members of the
Woman's Association was accepted
with, pleasure.'

ing of the Wroxeter Women's
StitUte will he held" in the com-
munity hall on Wed,nesday, August
8th at 2.0 o'clock, The motto,
"No woman 4.a slave to house-
work but rather the way she does
it" The topic for discussion is

WROXETEM--Mrs, John Fraser
and Mrs, Harry Adams were in
charge of the program for the re-.
gular meeting of the Woman's As-
soglation on Tuesday afternoon,
Mrs, Fraser presided and chose for
the theme, "God. Is In Every To- morrow".
The opening hymn, "God" Moves'
in His Mysterious Way,", WRS fol-
lowed by of commentary, °Use God".
Mrs. Adams led in prayer and
Gerty Bush read the Scriptuire
lesson from Psalms.
Thirteen ;members responded to
the roll call. with a verse contain-
ing the word "God". The worship
service closed with the hymn "The
King of Love My Shepherd Is",
Pre'sident Mrs. William Hart pre-
sided over the business and Miss
Mina. Ball gave the 'treasurer's re-
port, A generOus donation to help
with the' new' church carpet was
received from Mr. and Mrs, Thos,
Burke with appreciation. Plans
were made for the annual picnic
to be held at Listowel. Meinorial
Park on August 1st, ears to leave
the church at' 1,30 p,m. Members
of the W.M.S. and Tuesday Star-
light Group will be guests, of the.

Committees were set up as fol-
lows: Refreshments, Miss Mina
Ball and Mrs. Harvey McMichael;
sports, Mrs. ,Stanley Gallaher and
Mrs. George Gibson; .new catering
committee, Mrs. Wm. MacLean,
Mrs. Andrew Admits and Mrs. John
Fraser.
The remainder of the afternoon
was , spent quilting.. Supper was
served at the 'close. '

There will be no service in Wrox-
eter United Church next Sunday,
July 29th. Rev. W. J. V. Buch-
anan will again take- charge on.

ren of Ethel.
Rev, H. L. Parker, of Wingham,
took charge of the service in St.
James' Anglican Church, Wroxet-
er, on Sunday ,at 2.30 o'clock. Mrs.
Victoria Brothers was organist.
Members of Trinity Church, Ford-
wich and St, Stephen's Church,
Gorrie, joined with the Wroxeter
congregation for the service.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shearer,
their daughter Andrine and son
Fred, all from Sault 'Ste. Marie,
are visiting at the home of Mr,
Thomas and Miss Beatrice Shearer.
Mrs. Ruby Goodwin, of Lloyd;
nainster, Sask„ and Mrs. Tom
Wood and children of Tillsonburg„
are visitors this week at the borne
of Mr. and Mrs.' Merwyn Grainger
and with the Grainger family at-
tended the Grey Township centen-
nial on Sunday. and Monday,

WROXETER -Mr. and Mrs. Mer-
wYn Grainger and family were in
Toronto on Saturday when a party
was held at the home 'of Mr. Grain-
ger's sister, Mrs. Robert Jones, for
their father, who Was celebrating
his 81st birthday,
Six out of seven, Of the fainily
were present, two daughters and
four sons. Grandchildren , also at-
tended. One son, Howard, of De-
troit, was unable to 'be ,present.
A sister, from Lloydrninster,
Sask., was at the party.

Billy Hart, 'formerly Erla Newton,
of St. Catharines, were guests of
honor at a party in the' community
hall on Friday night. Sangster's
orchestra provided music. for the
dancing.
Jim. Wylie read an address and
on behalf of the friends and neigh-
bors in the district a gift of mon-
ey was presented by Don Gibson.
Billy expressed appreciation on be-
half of himself and Erla. A. large
crowd attended.
