GORRI4--The main street is
taking,,, on a festive appearance
with streamers, welcome signs and
many new paint jobs.
Following the monster parade
commencing at 12,30 on Saturday,'
June 30th, the Hon. Dana Porter
will officially open the celebration
at the Gorrie Agricultural Park.
Prizes will 1)e awarded and various
contests held, Supper is being
served on the grounds. Bands will
be in attendance and there will be
ball games and 'dancing in the
evenings.
The pageant "The Pages from
the Ages" will he presented by 60
Howick people on Friday even-
ing and repeated on 'Saturday
evening in the Gorrie Arena,
Much time and practice has been
given by those. taking part and, by
the conveners and directors. Gor-
rie will portray the first 25 years
of Howick's history, 1856-1882;
Wroxeter the second 25 years,
1881-1906; Lakelet 1906-1931 and
Fordwieh, 1931-2956.
On Sunday, church services will
be held in all churches in the
township. In Gorrie United
Church, the Rev. S. R, Johnston,
Thamesford, will be the preacher.
He, is a native of Howick. Rev. .1.
S. McClure, of the Gorrie and
Molesworth Presbyterian churches
will be the speaker at the Presby-
terian church and Rev, Dr, A. H.
O'Neill of Toronto, a former rev-
tor,

will be in charge at the An-
glican ChurCh. Luncheon will be
served by ladies of each church.
At 3 p.m, the cairn on Highway
87, east of Gorrie,' will be dedicat-
ed when a number of visiting
clergy will take part,
A feature looked forward to by
many is the picnics at each school
on. Friday afternoon, when each
one returns to the school attended
as a child. •

BLUEVALE—Mrs, A. M. Berry,
of Brisbane, Australia, is touring
Canada and s:)eaking to Women's
Institute groups in many centres.
As president of the A.C.W.W"„ she
has visited 30 countries to contact
rural women's organizations.
The Associated Countrywomen
has six million members. Mrs.
Berry's message is co-operation
among ail women, with a plea for
sympathy and help to those who
are underprivileged and distressed.
At home Mrs, Berry is owner of
•a sheep ranch of 42,000 acres and
a flock of 10,000 sheep.
