Seven Young People
Ccnfirmed by Bishop
neVen young people of St.
Angliean Chureh lost Sunday knelt
bsiorp the Right Reverend Q. N.
X-UXtQn, Bishop of
Hutton, to receive the ancient bless-
ing of the "laying on of hands".
This rite. based on the option of
the Apostles, Peter and John, in
the 8th chapter or the Acts of the
Apostles, saw the young people,
accept their baptismal vows as
their own spiritual responsibility.
As the, congregation knelt the

Mode of ehurch ineMbership in
the service which has efillle down
in the Angllean Church for
hundred years.
The candidates presented by the
rector of St. Pauls, the Reverend
If. T., Parker, were Malcohn Mc-
Kay, Ruth Stone, Janet Saint, Pat-
ricia Deyell, Karen Swanson, Pat-
ay Cecile Jackson.-
In his sermon Bishop Luxton
dealt with the silent sermons
preached by the architecture of
the parish church. The nave
symbolizes being- in God's pro-
tection' to carry us safely through
the storms of life. Since the' word
"nave" comes from the same root
as "navy". The church must be
a fighting ship opposing the
forces of evil. Referring' to the
chancel the Bishop told the choir
that they were there to lead in ,the
praise of God and not to present
a concert or swing for the enjoy-
ment of the congregation.
Stressing the need for spiritual
food found iii the Sacrament of
Holy Communion the Bishop said
"many of you must not have the
difficulties ..and problems in life
that I have for I find that I need
the strength of the Holy Com'-
munion to help me find the *next
stp." In the sacrament we re-
ceive the "life of Christ" and as
we walk up the centre ,aisle we ac-
cept the invitation that the aisle
gives to lay hold of that spiritual
life.
The choir, under the direCtion
of William M' Connell, sang Healy
Willan's "Blessed Are the tinde-
filed".
Following the service the Bish-
op joined the church warden and
their wives for lunch at the rec-
tory.

FAR-AWAY FIELDS MAY LOOK GREENER
"Far away fields only look greener to those who cannot see.
Here in Ontario we have the 'green fields' that are the envy of
the world. In these green fields are everything that the-vaca-

rugged hills and peaceful ,valleys„ history and progress,
`Z'Onzance and rest, fish and feather, fur and flower. TO Know

It's not unusual for repair

unprepared — and
borrowing the necessary
money is often a common and sensible solution.
In fact, nearly three quarters of a million families
borrow money, from Household Finance every year
to pay overdue bills, repair bills, travel expenses
