March 17, 1956.
R. W. N. Wade, Esq.,
Gorrie, Ontario,
Canada,
Dear Mr. Wade:
much absence from town this
winter has prevented me from
making acknowledgement of your
intimation regarding your Centen-
ary celebrations which are ,to be
held late in, June and in early July
of this year. I do trust you can
pardon my delay.
My magistrates, my town clack
and I, are intensely interested to
learn that the Township of Howick
-which takes, its name originally
from this burgh-has now attained
the respectable age of one hundred
years and, for that long period,
has been a r distinctive community
with a council of its own,
