IDEAL FOR SALADS AND COOKING ST. LAWRENCE Christian Religion
World's Big Need
The regular meeting- of St. And-
rew's Auxiliary of the W.M.S. was
held in the Presbyterian Church on
Tuesday of last week with Miss
Cora Gilkinson presiding and a
good attendance of members and
visitors.
Miss Frances Wilson read the
Scripture and meditation. What the
world needs is not more religion
but more Christian religion. Mrs. J.
Burchill led in prayer. The secre-
tary, Mrs. Nelson Pickell, read the
minutes anc.1 correspondence and
called the rill. Letters of interest
were read from the MacKay family
in India, the Malcolms and Miss
Jessie Gordon from Formosa. Miss
Agnes Mitchell led in the dedica,-
tory prayer, following the offering.
The topic, "What Is the World
Offered?" was presented in a most
interesting manner by Mrs. J. Mc-
Kague and Mrs. W. McKague.
Hinduism embraces many of the
beliefs of the Christian religion but
not Jesus Christ, Hindus believe
that their religion would be a rem-
edy for world strife where Chris-
tianity has failed. Communists be-
lieve they have the solution and
say that the Christian church talks
without action. Secularism teaches
regard for this life but no regard
Lou' a future life. Our country can-
not be called a Christian country
until we show to others what
Christianity really means.
Reports of the Presbyterial held
in Brussels Were given by Miss C.
Isbister and Mrs. T. Currie., The
