John jr., the son who was born
at sea, was christened by the cap-
tain of the boat, John Hiram Shaw
Strong, the captain'e name being

Shaw, He lived on lot 10, concession

31 years in. 1871, leaving his wife
Margaret, and three sons, Williare
George age six years; Abraham
Dane', aged four years, and John

The daughters of William Strong

After the death 'of John Strong
his elder brothet, George, came and
lived on lot 10, concession 10 and
talsed the three boys and helped
Clear the lamt, George Strong died
in 1.892 and Willriitn Geor'ge Strong
lived on flip fart until his son
Wellesley Strong took it over. He
is still hying there, so that lot 10
concession IS. Howlett has been in

has received Word of the death of
her sister-in-latv; Emily' Ann Cur-
tis, widow of the late Alexander
Messer in Saskatoon; Sask., on
April 10th.
The funeral service was held in
the United Church, Young, on
April 14th, with interment in
Young Cemetery.
Mrs. Messer, a former resident of
Bluevale, was in her 86th year and
was a sister of the late Joseph
Curtis.
Surviving are two sons, Will of
Coderre, Sask., and Lorne of
Young, and one daughter, Ethel
(Mrs. O'Myria), of Coderre. A
brother, Charles T. Curtis, of Van-
couver also' survives, and seven
grandchildren and seven .great
grandchildren.
