who works among Japanese Cana-
dians in Vancouver by Mrs. 'Ken-
neth Wheeler; Dr, R, 13. Palmer,
formerly of Wroxeter and Wing-
ham and who now is at Hazelton,
B.C,, working among the Indians
by Mrs, Edgar Wightman,
Mrs. W. Scott react a poem about
'planting, and also told about Dr.
Donald Watt of the Mission Hospi-
tal on Queen 'Charlotte Island,
The Easter Thankoffering was
received end Mrs, W. Scott led in
prayer followed by a hymn. Prayer
by Mrs. Edgar Wightman closed
the meeting.
The president of the W.A., Mrs.
George Michie,, was in charge of
that meeting, Scripture reading,
Psalm 16 was read by Mrs. Earl
Anderson. The theme of the meet-
ing "Easter Gladness" and the
meditation, "Victory over. Death,"
were given by Mrs. George Michie.
Mrs. Miehie also led in prayer.
The group from the south of the
village is sponsoring a film about
the Five Oaks Mission Station, to
be shown at a later date, and it
was also anneuneed , that the 1Vtis7
sionary arid Maintenance depart-,
ment of Huron Presbytery is
showing two films in the Presby-
tery and would be at Belgrave on
April 20 in the church,
This meeting closed with a
hymn.
Music supervisor for schools in
Morris Township is Mrs. Nora Mof-
fat and Mrs. Elaine McDowell for
the schools of East Wawanosh

The festival is under the control
and management of the I3elgrave
School Fair Association of which
Howard Campbell is president, and
Stewart Procter, secretary, Charles
R, Coultes is chairman of• the as-
sociation's festival committee and
Mrs. George Michie is festival
secretary.

Happy Hearts Meet
Sunday Morning
BELGRAVE-• The regular meet-
ing of the Happy Hearts Mission
Band of Knox United Church was

church basement. The meeting was
opened with the Mission Band
Purpose, call to worship and a
hymn. The secretary and treasurer
each gave their report followed by
the payment of fee,s. The roll call
was answered after which Wayne
Pletch read the Scripture lesson.
A musical number was given by
the children of .the 5th lino of
Morris. Florence Kinn led in pray-
er, The offering was taken up by
Anne Wightman and Karen Ander-
son, Lorna Bolt reed a poem, fol-
lowed by a hymn,
The World Friends were distri-
buted by Audrey Coultes and
Joyce Armstrong.
A short business period was held
after which the class divided into
groups and were told interesting
stories by their leaders.
Last Week's Euchre
Winds up Season
BELGRAVE-The final progres-
sive euchre party for this season
was hold on Wednesday evening in
the community centre.
There were five tables in play
and high prizes were won by Mrs.
Prod Cook and John McCallum.
Consolation prizes went to Mrs.
John McCallum and Abner Nall-
ery.

BELGRAVE-The two-day ()Vent, grave Co-Operative Aeseciatien
the 20-school Belgrave Music Fes-
tival commenced on Monday morn-
ing, with two large classes in com-
petition in • the morning and four
classes :competing in the after-
noon.
The Fesival Committee was for-
tunate this year in being able to
have Dr, G. Roy Venwiek, provin-
cial director of music as adjudi-
cator for the entire classes of OM-
petition,
Trophy, held now by U,S,S, 17
least Wawanosh and Morris, and
there are two new trophies for the
schools to compete for this year,
these being Reigravo Women's In-
stitute Trophy and the Scheel Area
Trophy. These are to be annual
competitions too, Cash awards are
also given to the winners.
Top class for entries this year
was for boy's solo, nine years and
under which drew 39 entries, and
for girl's solo, nine years and under
with 38 entries, Girl's solo, eleven
and under has 36 entries; girl's
solo, seven and ender, 84 entries;
boy's solo, eleven and tinder and
open duet each with 81 entries;
girl's solo 14 years and under 30
entries; boy's solo seven and under
with 28 entries and boy's solo 14
,years and under with 25 entries.
It is noted that each of the above
classes are up about nine or more
entries, than last year. There is
also a good number of entries in
the double trio, unison chorus,
rhythm band and two-part chorus
classes,
