MONDAY 1N WINURAN
Russell Mann, of Stratford, •father
of Mrs. Harold Swatridge, died ea
Monday morning, while assisting
with construction work at the store
on Josephine Street, now leased by
Mr. and Mrs. Swatridge, He was 01.
Mr, Mann had gone down to the
store on Monday morning, and was
found by Mre. Swatridge, who arrived
at the store .at noon, Death is thought
to have been caused by a heart
attack.
Mr. Mann was a past president of
the Stratford Optimist. Club, and 1110
been quite active in recent years in
the club's boys work program.
He was born in Palmerston, son of
the late Mr, and Mrs, Wellington
Mann, and had lived in Stratford for
the past 18 years,
Surviving are his widow, the form.,
er Caroline Wingfelder; two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Dorothy Stewart, of Strat-
ford; Mrs. Audrey Swatridge, of
Wingharn; four brothers, Roy, of
Bluevale; Bert, of Deti•olt; Clinton, of
Listowel; Sheldon, of Gorrie; four
Misters, Mrs. Carmen Johnson, nf
towel; Mrs. Hazel Hollenbe.ch, of Lon-
don; Mrs. Audrey Dolph, of Detroit;
Mrs. Gertrude Aldrich, of FordWich.
He was a member of Parkview
United Church.
Resting at the Heinbuck funeral
home, Stratford, for service Thursday
at 2 p.m, Btirial will be in Avondale
Cemetery there.
New Hosp. Boiler
Will Burn Coal
Coal will be burnt in the new boiler
room at the hospital, now under con
struction, it was decided at a meet-
ing of the Wingham General Hospital
board on Fr:iday.
Previously there had been quite a
bit of discussion among members of
the board as to the advisability of
using oil as fuel, instead of coal, and
the advice of engineers and architects
had been sought on the subject. The
hospital is at present using Cord.
After discussing the advantages of
each the board decided they ,would
stick to coal in future.

became the bride, of Milford Glenn
Paxton, son of Mr., and Mrs. Milford
Foxton, at a ceremony in the Angli-
can Church,'"On SatiCrday, October 3rd.
Rev. H. L. Parker officiated and the
bride, who was escorted by her father,
wore a grey suit with red accessories
and a corsage of white roses: Miss
Winona Foxton, her attendant, wore
a grey suit with corsage of red roses
and navy accessories,
Wade Stapleton was groomsman.
For the reception at the bride's
home, the bride's mother received the
guests wearing a green crepe dress
with brown accessories and a corsage
of bronze mums. The groom's mother
wore a navy drese with a white jacket,
navy accessories and a corsage of
pinjk mums.
For the honeymoon trip to Niagara
Falls, the bride donned a white coat
with red accessories, The couple will
live in Wingham,

covered with Chantilly lace and styled
with a scooped neckline and nylon
tulle yoke. Lace godets were set into
the full skirt which formed a slight
train. A coronet of seed pearls held
her three-quarter length veil of nylon
tulle and she carried a white Bible
c rested with Sweetheart roses and
rosebuds, knotted in satin streamers.
Miss fevelyxx Hawthorne, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor, and
Miss- Marilyn Hawthorne, another
sister of the bride, was bridesmaid.
Miss Nancy Hawthorne was flower
The maid of honor wore silver-green
shot taffeta with matching apron and
headdress and stole of dark green
tulle, She carried bronze mums and
trailing ivy. The bridesmaid wore a
similar gown in dark green and rose
shot taffeta and carried yellow mums
and trailing silvered ivy, The flower
girl wore a floor-length gown of
silver-green shot taffeta with match-
ing apron and headdress and carried
a basket of yellow and bronze mums.
Maurice Stainton, Wingham, brother
of the groom, was groomsman, and
Wingham; Stainton, Wingha, brother of
the groom, and Charles Hawthorne,
London, brother of the bride, ushered.
A reception followed at the Cobble-
atone Inn, when the bride's mother,
gowned in a grey crepe dress with
lace inserts, pink accessories and cor-
sage of pig roses received guests,
She was assisted by the groom's
mother wearing a Mocha crepe dress
with winter white and black access-
ories and a corsage of white mums.
For a motor trip to Quebec and the
blew England States, the bride travel-
ed in a grey and red flecked suit,
black and red accessories and cor-
sage of Sweetheart roses.
The couple Will reside in Wingham.

Stainton, of Wingham.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev, A. D. Boa, amid a setting of
Mrs. R. McClenaghan,
Mrs. Robert IVIeclenaghan. passed
away on Monday at a Winghaut nurs-
ing home after a few weeks' illness.
Fortrierly Emily Jean Cook, she was
the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Cook, of Whitechurch, and was
in her 74th year.
