Attended Citesley Funeral
Mr. and Mrs. George Evans and Mrs.
INIelson Cardiff, of Brussels, Mrs. P. S.
/VIcEwen, Mrs. Andrew Lamont, and
Mr. Dougal Strachan, all of Bluevale,
attended the funeral of Mrs. Conrad J.
Krug, of Chesley, last week. Mrs,
Krug, formerly Elizabeth Mitchell, of
Molesworth, was a cousin of the Stra-
ohal family.
Mrs. (Dr.) L. R. Duff
The death occurred in Welland on
September 16th, of Mabel Georgina,
Ofe of Dr. Louis Blake Duff. Mrs.
Ross Douglas and Mrs. M. L. Aitken
attended the funeral on Friday, also
Messrs. A. D. Smith and George
Greenaway.

Saskatchewan, with Mr. and Mrs.

Westfield Man Buys Henan
Mr, Mantic() Bosman of Westfield,
has bought Mr, Louis Hntton's house,
and the latter will move to Wingham
in the near future.

Mrs. Gordon Williamson and children,
and Mr. Charlie Williamson, of Mount

Mr, and Mrs, Gerrond Duff, of Wel-
land, visited the Duff family Ore on
Sunday,
Mr, Dave Jenkins, of Calgary, visit-
ed his brother, Mr. Ed. Jenkins and
other friends last week. He says there
are only two horries on the Bluevale
road whose owners have the same
family name they had when he was a
boy--the Jenkins and Henderson
homes.
Rev, M, Bailie, Mrs. Bailie and Ger-
ald visited Dundas and Agincourt last
week,
Harry Darling has taken a position
with Canada Packers at Mount For-
est,
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Corrigan, Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Johnston and Kay, and
Brenda Breckenridge, attended Lon-
don Fair last week.
Postmaster A. D. Smith is attending
the Postmasters' Convention at Peter-,
borough.
The play "A Close Shave," was pre-
sented by members of Y.P.U., of the
United Church, at Walton, on Monday
evening.

her daughter, Mrs. Oliver Moffatt.

Women's Institute Convention
Delegates from this, district plan,
ning to attend the Area Convention of
the W. I. at Guelph, will be interested
in the following information. Conven-
tion will be held in the Memorial Hall,
0.A.C, except banquet which will be
served by ladies of Norfolk United
Church. A oommittee from that church
will be on hand to arrange for over-
night accommodation, All standing
committee reports will be , mimeo-
graphed and available without cost.
Mrs. Ford Sudden, of Galt, will be
chairman and Mrs, Edgar Chalmers,
Poole secretary-treasurer. Community
singing will be led by Rev. W. A.
Young of the 04,C, With Mrs, Ralph
Kidd, as accompanist. Guest speaker
for the banquet is Mr. Joseph Connell,
of Kitchener. Music will be by Mr.
Charles Rush, Galt, and accordion
accompanist, Mr. George Alonzo, Galt.
Mrs. A. Hammond, of Moorefield, will
preside over the banquet programme.
Miss Jean Steckle will be in charge
of the girls' session with Miss Grace
Edgar, Gorrie, Junior representative.
Mrs. Arnold Darroch, Clifford, will
give her impressions of the A.C.W.W.,
and an address will be given by a

September 28th, at the Memorial Hall.
United Church Service
On Sunday morning, Rev, ,E. W.
Todd spoke from the theme, "The
friendly man with the angry look,"
St. Mark, chapter 3'verse 5. The choir,
to which several new members have
been added sang an anthem. Announ-
cement was made of the anniversary
services on October 4th at 11 and 7.30
o'clock, Thanksgiving service on Oct-
ober 11th and the following Sunday,
Holy Communion. The congregation
were reminded that next 'Sunday
standard time will be observed. Start-
ing with anniversary Sunday the ser-
vice will commence at 11 o'clock in-
stead of 11.15 at which time it has
been held during the summer months,
Women's. Association
Mrs. Les Douglas and Mrs. Harvey
McMichael arranged the September
meeting of the Women's Association,
United Church, which was held in the
church schoolroom on Tuesday after-
noon. President, Mrs. McCutcheon
presided and opened the meeting with
the singing of the hymn "Happy the
Home." Rev. E. W. Todd led in prayer.
Fifteen members answered the roll
call. Plans were made to replace the

the annual baazar was set Or October
24th, Ladies of the congregallen will
be asked for donations of any saleable
articles, also a parcel for the post of-
fice valued at 25 cents. The afternoon
was spent quilting a quilt in Sunburst
design, which will also be offered for
sale. Supper was served at the close by
the committee in charge.
Present Mirror to Church
The boys' Tyro and Junior girls'
groups of the United Church recently
presented a lovely oblong mirror which
has been placed on the wall of the
choir loft, During Sunday morning's
service, words of appreciation on be-
half of the congregation were spoken
by Rev, E, W. Todd, for the gift.
Attend Shower
A number from Wroxeter and dis-
trict attended the shower given for
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brown (nee
Mary McNaughton) in Bluevale Hall,
on Thursday evening, Tiffin's orches-
tra provided music. Zelma Stamper
read an address and the presentation
Was made by Marilyn Timm. Mr. and
Mrs. Brown have taken up residence
on the groom's farm in Grey Town-
ship,

Cliff Denny and family have taken
up residence in Owen Sound. They
have lived in Teeswater for some
years. Cliff is a brakeman on the C.
P.R.
Billy Hart, of Stafford vine, spent the
week-end at his home here. Latest
reports froin Lyle Hart are encourag-
ing although still confined to Victoria

Institute have postponed their Meet-

Hospital.
A number from St. James Anglican
congregation, attended the reception
on Friday given by their rector,. Roy.
Douglas and Mrs. Fuller, who were
recently married.
Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Gibson spent
a day at London Fair last week.
Mrs. A. Mc-Mid-met left on Friday
to spend several weeks with her dau-
ghters, Mrs. Ed. Stafford, Port Bur,
well and Mrs. J, Mitcheson at Niagara
Falls.
Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Gibson also
Mr, and Mrs. Gerry Gibson, Wingham,
Were in Harriston on Saturday, where
they attended funeral services for
John Gordon McGowan, small son of
Mr. and Mrs. John McGowan, of that
town, who was killed by a car acci-
dent, John was a son of Mr. Gordon
Gibson's niece.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Timm and
family, spent Tuesday at London Fair,
Miss Marilyn Timm will be one of
the attendants this coming Saturday
at the wedding of her cousin, Beverly
North, of London.
Mrs. David Anger, Mr, Bill Anger,
Miss Margaret Jardine and Mrs. Wal-
ker, spent Wednesday at London Fair,
Mrs. Harold Hamilton will• be guest
soloist at the United Church anniver-
sary services to be held on October
4th. Now of Wyoming, Mr. and Mrs.
Hamilton were former residents of this
village.
