Duff The death occurred in Welland on September 16th, of Mabel Georgina, Ofe of Dr. Louis Blake Duff. Mrs. Ross Douglas and Mrs. M. L. Aitken attended the funeral on Friday, also Messrs. A. D. VROXETER Women's Institute Convention Delegates from this, district plan, ning to attend the Area Convention of the W. I. at Guelph, will be interested in the following information. Conven- tion will be held in the Memorial Hall, 0.A.C, except banquet which will be served by ladies of Norfolk United Church. A oommittee from that church will be on hand to arrange for over- night accommodation, All standing committee reports will be , mimeo- graphed and available without cost. Mrs. Ford Sudden, of Galt, will be chairman and Mrs, Edgar Chalmers, Poole secretary-treasurer. Community singing will be led by Rev. W. A. Young of the 04,C, With Mrs, Ralph Kidd, as accompanist. Guest speaker for the banquet is Mr. Joseph Connell, of Kitchener. Music will be by Mr. Charles Rush, Galt, and accordion accompanist, Mr. George Alonzo, Galt. Mrs. A. Todd spoke from the theme, "The friendly man with the angry look," St. Mark, chapter 3'verse 5. The choir, to which several new members have been added sang an anthem. Announ- cement was made of the anniversary services on October 4th at 11 and 7.30 o'clock, Thanksgiving service on Oct- ober 11th and the following Sunday, Holy Communion. The congregation were reminded that next 'Sunday standard time will be observed. Start- ing with anniversary Sunday the ser- vice will commence at 11 o'clock in- stead of 11.15 at which time it has been held during the summer months, Women's. Association Mrs. Les Douglas and Mrs. Harvey McMichael arranged the September meeting of the Women's Association, United Church, which was held in the church schoolroom on Tuesday after- noon. President, Mrs. McCutcheon presided and opened the meeting with the singing of the hymn "Happy the Home." Rev. E. W. Todd led in prayer. Fifteen members answered the roll call. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Timm and family, spent Tuesday at London Fair, Miss Marilyn Timm will be one of the attendants this coming Saturday at the wedding of her cousin, Beverly North, of London. Mrs. David Anger, Mr, Bill Anger, Miss Margaret Jardine and Mrs. Wal- ker, spent Wednesday at London Fair, Mrs. Harold Hamilton will• be guest soloist at the United Church anniver- sary services to be held on October 4th.
