social half hour was enjoyed by all.

The regular monthly meeting of
the W.M,S. of the United Church was
held on Wednesday last at the home
of Mrs. Robert Laidlaw with an at-
tendance of twenty-one. The presi-
dent, Mrs. Jas. Falconer presided, and
gave the call to worship. The theme
of the meeting was The Church, The
Household of Faiht based on the new
sturdy book, "aVhere'er the Sun". The
book' tells how Jesus is drawing hu-
manity together through our faith in

Stratford on Saturday attending the
wedding in St. Andrew's Presbyter-
ian church, of their niece, Grace Eve-
lyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
MacDonald and Hugh MacDonald, son
of Mr. and Mrs. J. MacDonald, of
Stratford. A reception for over one
hundred guests was held in the
church parlours, following the mar-
riage. Mrs. Lyle MacDonald and dau-
ghters, and Mrs. Lewis MacDonald of
Teeswater, were also guests at this
wedding.

A wedding of interest in the com-
munity was solemnized on Saturday
at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Jas.
Blake, of Maitland concession, Col-
borne twp., When their daughter, Miss
Gladys Marie Blake, became the bride
of Mr. Donald Carman Stewart, only
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart,
of Kinloss, Mrs. Wm. Scars, and Miss
Joyce Blake, sisters of the bride, were
the attendants, with Mr. Earl Crow-
sten of Kincardine, as best man, and
with Rev. Mr. Williams, of Benmiller
United Church, officiating. Miss
Lorna Allin played the wedding music.
About forty guests were present for
the reception at the home. The happy
couple spent the week-end at Owen
Sound and other northern points, and
will make their home at Benmiller,
where the groom has been employed
with Mr. Harold Montgomery.

people of Korea and China have gone
through for the World Church. Mrs.
Ross led in prayer. The World Coun-
cil of Churches will be held in
Illinois next year, and this year we
study The Life of the Church around
the World. Mrs. J. G. Gillespie led
in prayer for the missionary workers
and the success of Christian efforts.
This was the quarterly birthday tea
meeting, lunch was served, and all
enjoyed the social half-hour.
