bride looked lovely in a floor -length
gown of nylon net over satin, designed
with a Chantilly lace strapless- bodice
and matching lace bolero. .r§. pearl

white French Illusion veil, and she
carried a white Bible crested with
baby .red roses, accented with white
satin streamers. .
Four attendants preceded the bride
to the altar. Mls;� Margaret Appleby
was .maid of honor, *amine a floor-
lenth gown of elle green brocaded sat-
in with. nylon net overskirt. Bridee-
maids, Miss Barbara Pickett and Miss
Peggy Pickett, both of Londesboro,
sisters of the -bride. wore gowns ident-
ical to that of the maid of honor, in
turquoise blue and pink respectively.
The trio wore nylon net headdresses
and satin gloves. to snatch their
gowns. The maid of honor carried
yellow chrysanthemums and the
bridesmaids, blue and yellow carnat-
ions, Miss Beverly Alice- Lee was
flower girl and wore a pink gown
similar in style to the other attend-
ants, with matching headdress, She
carried a nosegay of blue carnations,
Mr. Keith Dunbar, of Wingham, was
best man; and the guests were ushered
by Mr. Jack Lee, of Londesboro and
Mr, Norman Cook. of Belgrave.
The wedding dinner was served in
the church parlours which were decor-
ated with pink and white streamers
and bells.
The birde's aunt, Mrs. George Cow-
an received the guests, wearing a
brown crepe dress and brown aeces-
,5ories, The groom's mother assisted
y wearing an amethyst crepe dress with
1 matching accessories. Both wore )] cor-
sages of yellow roses. Other assistants

For a wedding trip to points east,
the bride chose a powder blue wool
gabardine suit with navy and white
accessories and. carried a winter white
top coat. A corsage of red roses com-
pleted her costume.

garet Gwendoline, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ruttan, R, R.

abra were placed near the altar, Mr,

white satin with redingote of rose
point lace, featuring Peter Pan collar

Hospital Auxiliary
Resumes Activities
The Ladies' Auxiliary to Wingham
General Hospital resumed their fall
activities when the September meet-
ing was held in the council chamber,
with the president, Mrs. G. R. Scott,
presiding.
It was deckled that the rummage
sale which has proven such a success
as a top money making event of the
auxiliary will be held in the Armour-
ies on Saturday, October 17th, The
popular marathon bridge parties will
again be carried on, commencing in
November. This scheme will be under
the convenership of, Mrs. W. H.
French.
Approval was given for the purchase
of sheeting, nursery articles and ether
necessary supplies for the hospital.
Andrew McCormick
Died in Culross
A life-long resident of .Culross, And-
rew McCormick, passed away at the
family residence, Lot 29, Con. 1, Cul-
ross, on Wednesday morning, Sept-
ember 16th, in his 78th year.
He had not enjoyed good health for
some time and on Tuesday prior to
his death suffered a severe stroke
from which he never rallied.
In 1905 he was married to the form-
er. Lucy Lamont, who predeceased him
in February 1952.
He leaves to mourn his loss, one
son and two daughters, Donald and
Katherine at home; Hilda (Mrs. Dan
Hallahan) of Blyth, also five grand-
children:
He is also survived by two brothers
and six sisters; John, of Culross;
Frank Wingham; Kate (Mrs. Roth),
Parkhill; Mrs. Isabel Young, Wing -

"Because," with Mr. H. V. Pym at the
organ.
The bride, who was given in mar-
riage by her father, wore a portrait

King, Arhtur Stapleton and Arthur
Ernewein. Interment was made in
Teeswater R, C. cemetery.
Women's Institute
September Meeting
The regular meeting of the Women's
Institute was held Thursday, Septem-
ber 17th, in the Council Chambers, In
the absence of the president, the sec-
end vice-president, Mrs. Robert Mow-
bray, conducted the meeting, '
The usual items of business were
taken care of. Tag day for the blind
has been cancelled as there is to be a
canvass of the town under the direc-
tion of Mr. John Brent. The Institute
offers its assistance to Mr. Brent, if
it can help hi any way,
The tea which was being planned
for September was postponed. It was
decided to send $1,00 to assist in the
publication of Home and Country.
Mrs. Jim Henry was appointed dele-
gate to the area convention in London
en October 21 and 22.
The Instituto was pleased to 'have
a number of ladies of the Clinton In-
stitute as guests. Three of these
ladies assisted with the program. Mrs.
Ernest Radford gave a piano instru-
mental„ Mrs. Wiltse, a reading, and
Mrs, Carter rendered a solo.
