BELRAVE
The annual Flower Sunday and
Sunday School Anniversary service
was held In Knox United Church on
Sunday, August 16.
The church was beautifully decorat-
ed with baskets of flowers.
Jost before the service, the chil-
dren arid their teachers marched in
and sat in the front pews of the
church,
Mr. Earl Anderson, superintendent'
of the Sunday School, gave the call
to worship. The Scripture reading
was taken from Chapter 12 "Paul's
letter to the Romans" and was read
by Mr. Clifford Kelly, A vocal duet
was sung by Miss Elaine Bolt and
Miss Ruth Procter.
Mr. Trewartha, chairman of Huron
Presbytery, was the guest speaker.
He spoke about what the Sunday
Schools have done for this country.
A male quartette with Messrs. Keith
Anderson, Jim Anderson, Lloyd An-
derson and Ronald Campbell sang
"Abide with Me". Mrs. George John-
ston presided at the organ.
Assisted at Trousseau Tea
Mrs. Harry Coll and daughters
Lois and Marilyn were among those
assisting at the trousseau tea given
in honour of the' former Delores
Hamilton, of Wingham, at the home
of her parents Mr, and Mrs. Earl
Hamilton.
As supervisor of music for the East
Wawanosh school area, Dolores is
well known in this community and
we extend to her, good wishes for
a happy marriage.

Mission Band Entertained
The Mission Band was entertained
at the regular meeting of the W. 111, S,
on August 12th. The meeting was led
by Mrs. Hugh Blair.
The opening hymn "Jesus Loves
Me," was followed by prayer led by
Mrs. Hugh Blair, The Scripture lesson
was read from Luke 15, 1-10 by Betty
Blair, The following program was
given. A recitation "Be Sorry" by
Donald McDowell; piano solo, Dorene
Howatt; reading, "Mr. Cheer," by Lyle
Smith; solo, "Into a Tent Where a
Gypsy Boy Lay," by John Campbell;
reading, "Going to Africa" by Hugh
Campbell; solo, "The Cleansing Wane,"
by Ronald., Snell.
Mrs, Moody of Blyth, told a very in-
teresting• story to the children about
"The Stained Glass Window."
The president, Mrs. Chas. Smith,
was in charge of the business and
gave a reading on "The Humble Folk."
The minutes were read and approved
and the roll call was answered by a
verse of Scripture. .A special offering
was received to defray the expenses
on the bale of clothing of 115 lb.
which had been sent recently to Tor-
onto.
The treasurer, ,reported $93.78 raised
from W.M.S. allocations, The Septem-
ber meeting will be in charge of Mrs.
Edgar Howatt and her group, After
the closing hymn and the benediction
by Mrs. Chas. Smith, lunch was serv-
ed.
Mr. Geo. Bradford, of Goderich, Mr.
Riley Bradford and son, George, of
Toronto, visited recently with Mrs. J.
L. McDowell.
Mrs. J. E. Ford, Comber, is spending
a few weeks with her sister, Mrs.
Frank Campbell.

6 weeks with the farm work at the

visited last week with Mr. and. Mrs.
Carl Mills.

ton, Mrs. Roland Vincent, of Blyth,
visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Buchanan.

Thursday afternoon of this week,
W.A. Meet
The August meeting of the McIn-
tosh W.A, was held at Mrs. Adam
Darling's last Wednesday afternoon
with an attendance of 12 ladies and
5 children. A short devotional period
was held and the remainder of the
afternoon was spent in quilting.
Lunch was provided by Mrs, Alan
Wylie and Miss Nellie Doig.
In Wingham Hospital
Mrs. N. Hunkin is a patient in
Wingham Hospital at present, having
undergone a serious operation there
last Tuesday. We very much regret
her illness and all join in wishing
her a speedy and complete recovery.
Injured by Glass
Russell Press had the misfortune of
cutting his foot on some glass a week
ago, It required a number of stitch-
es to close the wound, and it will be
another week before he can get a
shoe on, and lead his customary,
active life.
Personals
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Walker and
three children visited on Sunday
afternoon with Mrs. Fred Johann and
Wilfred.
Edna and Jerry Kaster, of Walker-
ton, have been spending a few weeks
with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ballagh.
Jerry left to stay with friends at the
Lake last week, but Edna will remain
till the end of August:

Jack Inglis on the birth of a daugh-
ter in the Walkerton Hospital on
Aug. 10th.
Mrs, Hunkin's sister Mrs. Sadler of
Staffa, has been assisting in the
store for a few days during her ab-
absence.
Dr. N. R. D. and Mrs. Sinclair and
daughter Dorothy of Ottawa, spent a
couple of days in this community last
week. Dr. Sinclair was guest speak-
er at the centennial services in Barrie
church last Sunday. While here they
visited Mr. and Mrs. James Darling
and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Abraham and
called on other friends. They went
to St. Paul and Exeter. Mrs. Abra-
ham went with them to St. Paul
