F'arrier, Miss Winnifred Farrier returned home last week from her trip to the West. Mrs, Herbert Laidlaw received word on Sunday of the passing of Mrs. Robert Laidlaw, of Powasson. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, McCartney and was in her fortieth year, Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her rive children, anti one .grandchild, Mrs. Laidlaw went North to attend the f uneral, Mr. and. She received many useful gifts in meal planning, also tea towels, Joan thanked all the girls and a delicious lunch was served by the hostess assisted by Miss Beatrice Har- grave and Mrs. Stanley Bride., Celebrates 96th Birthday Mr. Win, Wade, the grand old man of Fordwicb, celebrated his 96th birth- day on Monday, August 10th. He works in his carp-enter shop every day, also walks down town for his mail and his step is much lightor than lots of men 25 years younger, Congratula- tions. Fill Community Hall The Community Hall was filled to capacity on Tuesday night to honour Mr. and Mrs. George Holland, newly- weds. The young couple were present- ed with a yellow and grey chrome kitchen 'outfit.
