have just returned from an extended
trip through Michigan, Ohio, Pennsyl-
vania and New York State, While in
New York state they visited Watkins
Glen and the Groves' families in Free-
ville, N. Y.
-Mr, and Mrs. Win. D. Galbraith,
of Kitchener, are spending their holi-
days wth Mr. and Mrs, W. A. Gal-
braith. They have just returned from
spending a week at Davenport, Iowa,
where they were delegates to the In-
ternaional Y's Men Convention, repre-
senting the Kitchener YMCA, Over
30 countries were represented at the
convention and some 800 delegates at-
tended.
Miss Eileen Holmes and Mr. Grant
Holmes, of London, spent the week-
end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Holmes.
Mr. and Mrs. John Wickstead spent
Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
George Edden, at Kineardiee.
Mrs. George Jordan is a patient in
Wingham General Hospital having
undergone an operation there, Her
many friends wish her a speedy re-
covery.

Turnberry Council
The regular meeting of Turnberry
Township Council was held in Blue-
vale hall on Tuesday, Aug. 4 with all
members present, and the reeve in the
chair.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and adopted on motion of
W. H. Mulvey and A. D. Smith,
Moved by A. D. Smith and W. H.
Mulvey that council call for tenders
for digging -and laying 4250 tile'on the
Corrigan Drain, tenders to close Aug.
15, Carried.
Mr. DeWitt Miller, mayor of the
Town of Wingham, was present, re-
questing assistance for the new wing
of the Wingham Hospital. After due
consideration a motion was unani-
mously passed, that we accept the
pro rata percentage cost of building
the new wing to the Wingham Gen-
eral Hospital, Maximum township
share not to exceed $20,000.
Moved by Herb Foxton, and sec-
onded by W. H. Mulvey that the pay
roll and accounts be paid. Carried.
