At Foresters' .Hall Dance
and read responsively, with Mrs, Roy
McSween reading aome verses.
A large crowd attended the dance
held in the Forester's Hall, Belgra.ve,
on Thursday evening, in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Higgins, who were re-
cently married, Mr. and Mrs. Higgins
were the recipients of lovely and use-
ful gifts and a purse of money pre-
sented by Mr. Stanley Hopper on be-
half of those present. T,he week prior
to the dance Mr, and Mrs, Higgins
were surprised at their home one
evening, when their neighbors and
friends gathered to express their good
wishes for them and to spend a soc-
ial hour. Mrs. Earl Weitz read an ad-
dress and Mr. Harold Procter pre-
sented the young couple with a chair
on behalf of the third line neighbors.
Mr. and Mrs, Higgins '.xpressed their
thanks and appreciation,
Eyening'Auxiliary Meets
The July meeting of the Evening
Auxiliary was held at the home of
Mrs. Ross Anderson, with 16 members
present. Mrs. Anderson presided in
the absence of the president.
The meeting opened with the Lord's
prayer and was followed by hymn 579.
Mrs. Jas. Coultes read the minutes of
the last meeting. The committee to
visit the sick reported that 26 hospital
and 5 home visits were made.
Mrs. Roy McSween was in charge
of the worship service, which opened
with one verse of 0 Canada. Mrs.
Mathers read the Scripture lesson
from Psalm 72. Hymn 510 was sung
The program was taken from the
work of three different tmissienaries,
Mrs, Harold Vincent told of Miss
Graham's work at Yorkton, Sask. Mrs.
Cliff Logan told of Miss MatheW's
work in Muskoka and Mrs. Roy Mc-
Sween read about Miss Edwards'
work in Gander, Newfoundland.
The meeting was closed with hymn

family reunion in London on Saturday.
The banquet was held in St. George's
parish hall. Two hundred and twenty-
five members registered. The Cody
family is descended from "Buffalo
Bill," who was Col. Wm. F. Cody, and
was born near Toronto.

Twelve ladies attended the Presby-
terian W.M.S. meeting in the church
last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. A. Mun-
dell, president, was in charge and
opened the meeting with a call to
worship and hymn 52 "Lord Thee My
God, I'll Early Seek." Scripture read- ; ings from the 5th chapter of Matthew,
were given by Mrs. Elmer Jeff ray and
Mrs. Kaihler. Mrs. Mundell gave the
meditation and Mrs. James Stokes led
in prayer. Bible study on "Joel" was
given by Mrs. K. C. Press and the
topic "Education in Africa" was in
charge of Mrs. George Lane. Roll call,
a verse of Scripture.
Mrs. W. Darling read a letter of
thanks from Rev. Elder of British
Guiana for used S. S. supplies also
one from the Cecelia Jeffray Indian
school for "Every Days" and S. S.
scrolls sent them.
The meeting closed with hymn 317
"0 Spirit of the Living God" and Mrs.
Curie offered the closing prayer,
The Presbyterian Y. P. S. are hold-
ing a picnic at Port Elgin next Satur-
day, July 25th.
Miss Ella Poste, of Fergus, is visit-
ing Mrs. Elmer Jeffray and Mrs. Alan
Darling and other friends.
Mr. and Mrs. John Aitken, of Moose
Jaw, Sask., spent a few days last week
with his sister, Mrs. Fred Johann. Mr.
and Mrs. Aitken•and Mrs. Johann and
Wilfred, spent Thursday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Aitken, near Kin-
cardine.
Mrs. Richard Jeffray, of Bluevale, is
visiting Mrs. George Lane.
Mr. K. C. Press is putting up an ad-
dition to the back of his house.
Alan Darling is erecting a new house
for Mrs. McNeil. The outside work is
done, and now he and his helpers are
finishing the interior. These improve-
ments and new buildings add to the
appearance of the village.

family, of London, spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Renwick.
Miss Wendy Scott and Miss Doris
Doubledee, of Kincardine, spent the
week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Doubledee.

Nile, visited a couple of days this past
week with their son, Earl McNee and

Saturday with friends at Kitchener
and Preston.
Miss Marybell McNee, of Dungann-
on, is visiting her cousin, Evadell Mc-
nee.
Friends of Mrs. Clayton Edwards,
formerly of Edmore, will regret to
learn that she is a patient in Victoria
Hospital, London, Her many friends
here join in wishing. her a speedy re-
covery.
Miss Kay Nickel spent the past
week in Breslau with Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Nickel and family.
Mrs. Madeline Sullivan, Dennis and
friends of Hamilton, are holidaying in
the village.
Mrs. Margaret Ballagh has returned
to the home of the Misses Stokes after
spending a few weeks in Teeswater,
Mr. and Mrs, Michael West, Mr.
Peter West, Miss Jean West and two
friends, of Owen Sound, visited with
their parents, Rev. H. T. and Mrs.
West, at the manse over the week-end.
Mr. Harry Gowdy is in Toronto at
present where three of his horses have
been racing at Thorneliffe Raceway.
All three finished in the money in the
past week.
