This issue of The Wingham Advance-
'Times contains a special supplement which
will be of real interest to every newspaper
reader in the district. The -advertising sec-
tion has been assembled for the express
purpose of letting the buying public know
that Wingham is a good place in which to
shop.
Just to prove the point, and to allow
shoppers to become better acquainted in the
local stores, the members of the Wingham
Business Association, whose advertisements
appear in the yellow pages of this issue,
have reduced their prices on many, many
items. Thursday, Friday and Saturday
of this week will provide you with an
opportunity—not just to save money in one
store--but to take advantage of bargains in
every one of the fifty-six stores participat-
ing. After you have carefully read the mes-
sages in this paper you will be able to plan
a real shopping "spree" in Wingham this
week and be sure that you are saving dollars
at every store.
Don't fail to get your free tickets on the
draw which is being run in connection with
Dollar Days. Each of the participating
stores has them for you—one ticket with
each dollar you spend. Simply write in your
name and address on the tickets and drop
them in the box which you will find in the
store. Winners of the prizes will be deter-
mined when the tickets are drawn on Satur-
day evening, July 26.
There are three cash prizes, $25, $15
and $10, in addition to which merchandise
prizes have been provided through the
generosity of the following businesses :
Maclntyre Bakery, Walker's Home Furn-
ishings, Harry Angus Groceries, The Wall-
paper Shop, Carmichael's, Howard Machan,
Donald Rae & Son - Jack Alexander, Prop.,
Walker Stores, Hanna's Ladies & Men's
Stores, Callan Shoes, McKibb9n's, Shaw's
Groceteria, Purdon's, Welwood's, Kerr's
Drug Store, Brunswick Hotel, Edighoffers,
Stainton's, Earl's Men's Wear, Burke Elec-
tric, Pattison Radio & Electric, Red Front
Grocery, Dunlop Shoes, Thomson Applianc-
es, Smith Bros. Grocery, Mundys' Grocery.
No, this isn't any give-away week! The
participating merchants have a sound rea-
son for cutting prices and offering real
bargains for three days. The reason—they
want you to be reminded that their stores
are well stocked with attractive merchan-
dise at honest prices. In other words, these
business people appreciate your patronage
throughout the year, and they want it to
continue. By all means take advantage of
the good buys which they are offering.
