A B -X -LAW to prohibit and regulate the running at large of dogs within the Municipality of the Town .of Wingham, pursuant to the Provis- ions of The Dog Tax and Live Stoelt Protection Act, R.S,O,, 1950, Chapter 107, Sections 6 and 7. WHERAS due to the damage and destruction to property caused by dogs running et large, within the Municipal Corporation .of the Town of Wingham, it Was deemed eripedi- ent that a By-law be passed prohibit- ing and regulating suph dogs running at large. THEREFORE the Copncil of the Munielpal Corporation of the Town of Wingham, enacts as follows: 1. THAT from May lst, to Septem- ber 30th, in each year, every person Who owns, keeps or harbours a dog or dogs within the I4t nieipality of the Town of Wingham, is hereby pro- hibited from allowing such dog or dogs to run at large, within the said MunicipalitY• 2. Any dog found running at large contrary to this By-law, may be seiz- ed and impounded and killed, whe- ther before or after impounding. (2) That the' annual License fee shall be the sum of One Dollar for eaoh year or part thereof and shall be payable at commencement of busi- ness and on or before the fifteenth day of January in each year there- after or at such other times as re- quired by the Municipality, (3) THAT the Council of the said Municipality shall at all times have the right to refuse the issuance of such License and if issued, to revoke same at any time. (4) THAT for the purpose of this By-law "Salvage Yard" includes an Automobile wrecking yard or prem- ises and "second-hand goods" includ- es waste paper, rags, bones, bottles, bicycles, automobile tires, old metal and other scrap material and salvage, (5) Any person, partnership, firm or corporation, who or which contra- venes and is found guilty of any in- fractions of this By-law, shall upon conviction, forfeit and pay a fine :in the discretion of the convicting Mag- istrate, but ndt exceeding $50.00, ex- clusive of costs; with same to be re- coverable under The Summary Con- victions Act, R.S.O., 1950, Chapter 379, the provisions of which shall apply except that in the case of imprison- ment, same shall not be for a term exceeding 21 days.
