Hold Reunion oiri Saturday
Spring Angus, lovely farm home
of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Timm, gnd
liner Turnberry, was the scene of
happy gathering on Saturday after-
noon when descendants of the late
Mr, and Mrs. Fred Gedche, of Hewiola
township, numbering eighty, held their
family re-union, Dinner and supper
was served at long tables on the lawn,
John Gedche was master of ceremon-
ies and under his supervialon a pro-
gramme of games and sports was en-
joyed,
Guests of honor were Mr. and Mrs.
Russel Karges, who returned from
their honeymoon that day. An address
was read by Mrs, H. Mason and at-
tractively wrapped gifts were present-
ed by Marilyn Timm, Ruth Hibberd,
Doris Gedche and Beatrice Gedche, In
appreciation of the hospitality of Mr.
and Mrs. Timm, President John Ged-
che presented a pair of wall brackets.
Officers for the coming year are:
president, Percy Gedche; vice-presi-
dent, Mervyn Karges; secretary, Mrs,
Warren Zurbrigg.
To Visit West
Mrs, Arnald Brown and her (laugh-
ter, Miss Joan Brown, former residents
of Wroxeter South, but now of Toron-
to, spent the past week with old neigh-
bors and friends here. On Monday, no-
eornPanied by Miss Nellie Ball, of the
Wingham Hospital staff, they joined
a party at London and left by bus pn
a 9,000-mile trip through the United
States and the Canadian West, Some
of the important points they will visit
are Yellow Stone 'ark, San Fra.nsieo,
Loa Angeles, Hollywood, Mexico, Salt
Lake City, Chicago, the Canadian Na-
tional Park at Banff, Vancouver and
Victoria. They hope t9 be in Calgary
for the Stampede. Friends here join
in wishing all three a good holiday
trip and a safe return.
Dr. Palmer Moves to Wingham
This week Dr. R. B. and Mrs. Palm-
er and their three children, Nancy,
Bobby and Billy, leave Wroxeter to
take up residence in Wingham, where
Dr, Palmer will be associated with
Drs. Connell and Corrin. During the
seven years spent in this village, both
Dr, and Mrs, Palmer have made a
fine contribution and their leaving is
regretted by all. Both were faithful
members of the United Church. Dr.
Palmer was a member of session and
is also a member of Forest Lodge,
A.F. & A.M,, and the Howiek Lions
Club. They always gave their best for
any worthwhile undertaking for the
good of the community. Dr. Palmer's
many patients appreciated his skill as
a physician as well as his friendship
and kindness which could always be
counted upon. The best wishes of all
in Wroxeter Village i.nd throughout
the district go with the doctor, his
wife and family to their new home.
May good health, happiness and well-
deserved success be theirs, for many
years to come..
Guelph Trip for W.I.
On Wednesday, July 8th, the mem-
bers of the Wroxeter Women's Insti-
tute will take a bus trip to Guelph.
It is the holiday week at the 0.A.C.,
VEWS OF BLUEVALE
The Junior Red Cross of Bluevale
School presented a program by the
pupils to close the school term, the
president, Elizabeth Mcicinney, presid-
ing. The mothers of pupils attended.
Items of the program were: Chorus
by pupils, "0 Canada"; piano solo,
Joan McFarlane; recitation, Julia
Thornton; highland fling, Dorothy
Frieburger, Carol Robertson, Karen
Greenaway; solo, Paul Hutton; round,
by three senior grades; riddles, Mur-
ray McFarlane; chorus by grades one,
two and three; square dance by eight
seniors.
Mrs. Donald Robertson was accom-
panist,
At the conclusion of the program
the presentation of a gold signet ring
was made to the teacher, Mr. Campbell
Brown, of Gorrie, who has taught in
the school for two years, and will be
principal of Wroxeter Public School
for the next year.
Susie Yeo read an address of ap-
preciation and Elizabeth McKinney
made the presentation to which Mr.
Brown replied in kindly terms.
The serving of refta.shments made
a pleasant conclusion to the after-
noon's events.
Hold Union Services
During July and August union ser-
vices for the Presbyterian and United
congregations will be held.
During July the services will• be
held in the Presbyterian Church, Rev.
R. A. Brook of the United Church,
being the preacher.
During August, Rev. Matthew Bailie,
of the Presbyterian Church, will
preach in the United Church. On Aug-
ust 2nd., the first Sunday of the
month, there will be no service in
either church.

Visitors with Mrs. Jos. Curtis at the
week-end were: Miss Maud Smith, of
Wallingford, Conn.; Mr, Clifford Bell,
St, Marys; Mrs. John Bell, Seaforth.
Mrs. Neil MacEachren and Miss
Louise, of Clifford, visited Mrs. R. F.
Garniss.
Mrs. Howard Black, of Toronto, is
the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer
Sellers.
Miss Margaret Curtis spent a holiday
with her sister, Mrs. Harold Procter,
of Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas, O'Neil, of Fort
specially arranged for the women -Cif
Western Ontario. Wroaeter group will
enjoy this Nettie instead of the regular
July meeting, They plan to leave at
o'clock and will meet at the United
Church. A very limited number 'of
seats have not been spoken for. Any-
one interested will be welcome to ac-
company the W.I. and should get in
touch with Mrs. Lea. Douglas, con-
vener. Special lectures will be on the
program with entertainment through-
out the day.

Mr, Harry Dane was taken to the
Wingham Hospital on Friday suffer-
Ing from pneumonia. His many friends
hope for a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gallaher are
spending a few clays with their daugh-
ter, Mrs, Robert Mitchener, of Wheel-
ing, West Virginia. They accompanied
Mr.-and Mrs, Thomas McLemmitt, of
F'ordvvich.
William, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Wiles, of Toronto, visited former
friends in this vicinity last week.!ft
is forty-two years since the O'Neil
family lived in Bluevale.
Mr. Robert Dixon of Clifford, was a
Sunday visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Greenaway and 'family.
Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Shaw, of Tor-
onto, were guests of Mrs. A. Shaw
during the week.
Pupils of S. S. No. 8 and S. S. No. 10,
with their teachers, Miss Speir and
Mr. Tai, and mothers of pupils, enjoy-
ed a picnic at the Lions' Park, Sea-
forth, last week,
Mrs. W. J. Johnston tnd Mrs. Arthur
Shaw were Wingham visitors on Sun-
day.
Mrs. Albert Barry and children,
Paula and Stephen, of Sarnia, are
spending some time with Mr. and Mrs.
George 'Thomson.
JAMESTOWN
The teacher and pupils of 5, S. No.
4, Grey held their annual school pic-
nic on Wednesday. There was a large
crowd and the afternoon was spent
playing games, contests and races. A
basket lunch was served also ice
cream and pop for the children .
Mr. Don Tai, teacher at S. S. No. 10,
Morris, entertained his pupils by hav-
ing a picnic in the Seaforth Park on
Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thompson
spent the week-end with Toronto
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nicholson and
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Montgomery, spent
Friday in the city.
Miss Gail Richardson is spending
her holidays with Mr, and Mrs. Os-
wald Simpson.
Mr. Kenneth Jacklin is a patient in
Wingham General , .Hospital, having
undergone an operation. We hope he
will soon be feeling better.
Miss Viola Bradshaw, of Jamestown,
and" Mr. William Adams, of Brussels,
were qiiietly married at Brussels on
Saturday.

Junior Red Cross Presents
Variety Program at School
Mrs. W, G. Gibson Is spending a
month with friends in Londesboro.
Mr. Raymond Brawn, who has been
with the Westinghouse Co, of Hamil-
ton for the past two years, has been
moved to Dalhousie where he will be
with the New Brunswick Paper Co.
His many friends wish him every suc-
cess in his work in a new province.
Mrs, W, E. Weir and Miss Gerty
Bush accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Al-
lister Green and daughter, Lynda, to
Rochester for the weelc-end.
Mr. and Mrs, George Sproule, De-
troit, formerly of this village were re-
cent visitors with friends here.

Vacation school started in Wroxeter
on Monday morning under the direc-
tion of the United church minister,
Rev, E. W. Todd.
Raggedy Nan, the play by Wrox-
eter talent which has been presented
with success many times, was put on
the programme at Molesworth garden
Party last Friday night, and drew a
large crowd.
Mr. and Mrs. 3. D. McGillivray,
Paisley, were Sunday visitors with
George and Mrs. Gibson.
