ful coloured lanscapes of the north,
and of the churches where they work,

Fisher, of Kinloss, became the bride
of Mr. Herbert Arnold Lougheed, son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Lougheeci, of
London, with Rev. R, D, A. Currie,
officiating. Her attendants were,
Miss Alice Kaltman, of Aylmer, and
Miss Mary Foster, of ' Mitchell, her
little sister, Sandra Jean, as flower
girl. The groom's brother, Howard
Lougheed, of Toronto, was best man,
and Bill Fisher of Mitchell, and Ron-
ald Gifford, of Delhi, were ushers,
The groom's sister, Mrs, Stanley
Doan, of Aylmer, was soloist, with
Mrs, Duncan Simpson, of Kintail,
accompanist.
The wedding dinner was served in
the Queen's dining-room, Wingham,
to over eighty guests.

ronto; Mr. and Mrs. Gifford, Mr. and

Mark 25th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Newman and
other members of their family gather-
ed on Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald MacDonald, of Walton,
for the 25th anniversary of their
marriage. The family presented their
parents with a Coronation chest of
"Evening Star" silverware and the
congregation of the Presbyterian
Church here presented them with a
walnut table as a party remembrance.

The service in the Presbyterian
Church here was withdrawn on Sun-
day on account of the Anniversary
services in Langside Church. Rev.
Mr, Campbell, of Seaforth, ,was the
special minister for the day.
Mr. and Mrs. James Falconer and

Miss Grace Richardson has been a
patient in the Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, for the past two weeks.
Nat Thomson had a very sore hand
last week, suffering from a long gash
around the base of his left thumb,
made when a pump-saw blade broke,
Eight stitches closed the wound. Mr.
Thomson attended the supper gath-
ering at Exeter on Friday evening

Former Resident'
Dies in Winnipeg
Word has been received of the death
of William Arthur Higgins, of Kam-
sack, Saskatchewan, a former resi-
dent of this district, in his 73rd, year.
Mr. Higgins was born in Turnberry
Township and was educated in S. S.
No. 9, Turnberry, and at Harriston
High School!. He was a school teacher
for many years and after retirement
served with the Mutual Life Insur-
ance and the Wawanessa Mutual corn-
parties. He was married in 1920 in
Winnipeg, to Irene Isabelle Conolly,
of that city, who predeceased him in
1942. He was a member of the United
Church, a postmaster of King Solo-
mon Lodge No. 58 A.F. & A.M., in
Kamsack, and a member of the Grand
Lodge, Saskatchewan.

of Bluevale, and Vernon, of Toronto.
Funeral services were held from
Gardiner's Funeral Home, Winnipeg,
with Dr, W. E, Donnelly officiating,
and interment was in Brookside

The meeting was opened with the
singing of hymn 391 followed by pray-
er given by Mrs. Percy Clark. Mrs.
Len Phillips took the Scripture, Matt-
hew 9: 9-38. Mrs. Stewart Forsyth read
the meditations. Mrs. Bob Arbuckle
gave the Glad Tidings prayer.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and adopted and the roll call
was taken, with an attendance of
about thirty. The treasurer's report
was given, followed by the offering.
Mrs, J. Donaldson gave the offertory
prayer. A solo, "Make Me a Blessing,"
sung by Mrs. Doug Fry was much
enjoyed.
Mrs, E, Gauley then introduced our
two special speakers, Misses Donalda
McDonald and Audrey Gilmour, win-
ners of a speaking contest, sponsored
by the W.M.S. Donalda told of the life
of David Livingstone and Audrey Gil-
mour related the story of Mary Sles-
sor. Mrs. Geo. Scott thanked the
speakers. Hymn 232 was sung.
The topic was taken by Mrs. E.
Gauley and Mrs. Wilfred Congram,
African Life, old and new. The closing
hymn was 581, and the meeting closed
with prayer. A social hour was enjoy-
ed after. the meeting. Two quilts were
quilted during the meeting,

A family dinner party was held on
June 21st., at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Foxtos, in honour of Mr.
and Mrs. Milford Fenton on the occas-
ion of their 25th wedding anniversary,
June 22nd.

ona, presented them with a beautiful
silver tea service and tray.

present: namely Mrs. Mary Pullen,
