Sanford Zimmerman was taken to
the Wingharn General Hospital on
Thursday and is suffering from a cri-
tical heart condition.
Miss Gurennie Hyndman is spending
Easter holidays with her grandparents

A number of Presbyterian ladies
were in Btuevale on Wednesday after-
noon to hear Miss Collar, a Mission-
ary on furlough from Africa, who
spoke in the Presbyterian Church
there.
Mrs. Delbert Clegg was high lady at
the progressive euchre irr the Orange
Hall on Wednesday evening. Percy
Copeland had the highest score for the
gentlemen.
Mrs. Rose Patterson, Mount Forest,
spent the Easter holiday with her mo-
ther, Mrs. T. Nash, and other relatives
Miss Alma Nash,- of Toronto, is also a
visitor at the same home.

Communion, At St. Stephens
The Easter communion service at
the St. Stephens church was well at-
tended with the rector, the Rev. D. H,
T. Fuller in charge. There was special
Easter music, the anthem being War-
ren's "The Magdalene." The lovely
Easter lilies and daffodils were given
by Mrs. F. C, Taylor in memory of
her husband, Mr. F. C. Taylor and by
Miss Mary Corbett, Toronto, in men's-

by Rev. D. H. T. Fuller in memory of
his father and a brother killed in
World War II,
W. M, S. Easter Meeting
Mrs. Wesley Tremble opened her
home for the Easter meeting of the
Wonsan's Missionary Society of the
United Clrarch, on Thursday evening.
Miss Margaret Dane led in the wor-
ship service. The opening hymn
"Ch'r'ist the Lord is Risen today," was
sung. Mrs, Cecil Grainger read the
Scripture taken from Marls 15: 1-11
and offered prayer, Mrs, Geo. Brovni
gave a poem "Calvary's Message,"
followed by the hymn "Look Ye Saints,
the Sight is Glerious," Rev. J. W. V.
Buchanan gave a fine address
"The Easter Message,"

Hill Far Away." Mrs. I. Toner, presi-
dent, conducted the business. Mrs. Q.
Ramage of Vineland, formerly of Gor-
rie, has kindly consented to be guest
speaker on May 10th, at the 11 o'clock
service.
The meeting closed with the hymn
"When T Survey the Wondrous Cross."
The Rev. J. W. V. Buchanan pronoun-
cad the benedigtion. Lunch was served
by the hostesses, Miss Margaret Dane,
Mrs. C, Grainger and Mrs, Gordon
Brown.
Women's Institute
The Gorrie Women's Institute will
hold their April meeting at the home
of Miss Margaret Dane, on Tuesday,
April 14th., at 2.30 p.m. Mrs. Gordon
Browh will be in charge of the pro-
gram. Rpll call, "A responsibility of
an Institute member."
After, a delicious buffet supper,
table setting and table service was
discussed and demonstrated, The
meeting adjourned at the end of a
very successful day.

Anglican Church will meet in the

The three-act, comedy, "The Two
Brats" was presented in the Ford-
wich Community Hall on Tuesday
evening by the Gowanstown Women's
Institute and sponsored by the Ford-
wich Women's Institute. The members
of the cast took their parts well and
it was a very humorous play,

Mr. 3. E. Smith, of Ottawa, who is
attending the O.E.A. convention in
Toronto, spent Easter Sunday with his
Parents, Mr, and Mrs, James Smith of
Carling Terrace.

Easter with Mrs. Feneliam's parents,
