Tremble and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nickel and Kay, The Y.P.S. of Teeswater Presbyter- The Perin Forums, Maitland and Chitter ,Chatter, of Morris, entertained in the Community Hall when nine farm forums were represented. With Fleming Johnston as chairman, a good program was given, beginning with a sing song, led by Mrs, Gee, Hethering- ton, Instrumental numbers were: piano duet, Elizabeth McKinney and Susan Yeo; selections, piano aecordian, Mrs. Donald Robertson; readings were given by Mrs, M. Bailie, Miss Mary Adair, Molesworth, and Mr, Clifford Coultes, Belgrave; Vocal numbers were as follows: Quartette "Sweet and Low", and "Pop Goes the Weasel" by Messrs. C. H. Hoffman, Rev, R. A. Brook, Carl Johnston, Ross Smith; and solos. by Mrs. Gordon Craig and Bruce Robertson. Dance numbers consisted of a highland Fling by Marie and Shirley. Johnston and an old fashioned hoe down in costume. Accompanists were: Mrs. Oliver Moffatt, Mrs. Carl Johnston, Mr. 0 Moffatt with violin, Mr. Gordon Waite, secretary of the Farm Forums of Ontario, was the speaker, and received a rousing re- ception. Mr. Waite is a dynamic speaker and carried his audience with him In his description of Frontlet College, adult education in the north- ern lumber, mining and railroad camps, He gave a vivid account of the methods used by the instructors in teaching the French speaking and foreign workers arithmetic and the English language, He also dwelt on the value of farm forums and urged members to take an active interest, in the discussions and keep informed on the • activities of the Federation. The speaker said some of the farm forums had been "euchred" to death, to the loss of the community. Mr. Bill Hastings moved a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker, Mr. Personals ; Chas. Following the worship period, Mrs. Ross Vogan presented the chapter of the study book "The Healing Ministry In Angola", which dealt principally with the work done in hospitals, Mrs. R. 13. Mills, Mrs, J. W. Bushfield and Mrs. Stewart Beattie who represented nurses in Various hospitals in Angola told of the wonderful work they were Accomplishing, both in healing and in envangellsm among the natives, Mrs, Charles Hodgins read an inter- esting reply to an article which ap- peared in one of our daily papers Some time ago, At the conclusion Of the business part of the Meeting Itinch Was Served told a pleasant, time spent Socially, The first meeting of the Fordwich Club Girls was held at the home of Mrs. Geo, Richards, Thursday evening last. Fifteen members were in attend- ance and the election of officers was made as follows: prea, Jean McLean; sec., Phyllis Keith; treas,, Allison McCann; press reporter, Joan Vittie. Mrs. Geo. After the concert refreshments were served, and 'a dance followed to music provided by Tiffin's orchestra, Mr. John Balfour Mr. John Balfour died in Wingham General Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Turnberry township, the son of the late Andrew Balfour and Margaret Casemore, He lived all, his life on the family homestead in Turnberry until he .retired to Bluevale four years ago. Surviving are three sisters: Mrs, Reid (Kate) of Wingham, Mrs, Camp- bell (Sarah) of Vancouver, and Mrs. Wilson (Mary Jane) of Saskatoon. The funeral service will be held in Walker's Funeral Parlor, Wingham, on Wednesday afternoon, March 25th, with Rev, Mr. Coyle, of Wingham Baptist Church, officiating. March 25th would have been the 80th birth- day anniversary of the deceased. Pallbearers will be: James Case- more, Wm, Casemore, Milo Casemore, George Hutchison, Wart. Faulkner and Noble Greenaway. Mrs. Joseph Hagan of Medicine Hat, Alberta was a guest of her brother Mr. Eddie Waddell last week, The Triple Group of the Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian Church met at the home of Mrs. Don Robertson, on March 19th, to quilt. Mrs. Saltine, pre- sided' for the business period. The group ,,have decided to sponsor the play "Raggedy Nan," put on by Wrox- eter talent, in the Community Hall. Rev. Matthew Bailie, of Knox Pres- byterian church, had charge of the "Church of the Air", Tuesday morning. where he has been a patient for the past few weeks, Master Billy Wallace returned home on Tuesday from Listowel Memorial Hospital, Mr. and Mrs, Roy Gadke spent Wednesday of last week in Toronto. Mr. Norman Harding and Mr, Les- lie Douglas of Wroxater, were in Tor- Tonto last week and attended the Un- derwriters' Convention in the King Edward Hotel. They were delegates frcim the Howick Fire Insurance Co. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simmons and Mr. William Sotherh Jr. were in London on Friday to see their father, who is getting along very well, Mr. and Mrs, Ed Mathews spent the week-end in London with Mr. and Mrs. Mae Corbett. , Mr, and Mrs, M. Wilcox were in London on Saturday, attending the funeral of Mr. Wilcox's uncle. Mr, Ken Duncan of Mount Forest visited with his friend, Mr. Jack Fos- ter, on Saturday.
