By Wingham Bantams
A terrific trouncing to the tune of
12-3 was handed the Kincardine team
by the Wingham Bantams on Monday,
when practically everybody scored in
the first game of the group playoffs
here. The local boys showed real
form, particularly in the passing plays
and bid fair to take the whole series
hands down, if they can keep up the
present rate of pressure, Extra good
goalkeeping by Kincardine prevented
an even worse catastrophe.
The first frame showed little prom-
ise of things to come, with a single
(ally by Scott (Fenton) for Kincar-
dine, and a double for Wingham from
Lockridge (Fry) and Campbell (Hodg-
kinson).
In the second period, however,
everything in the place broke loose,
and by the time the whistle put an
end to it, Wingham had roiled up 8
goals to Kincardine's 1, making the
score 10-2, Wingham tallies were
chalked up by Fry (Rae, Gray);
Houghton; Hotchkiss (Lockridge);
Hodgkinson (Campbell); Lockridge;
Rae (Gray) and two additional by
Fry (Rae). Kincardine's lone goal
was credited to MacLeod (Goodwin).
In the third stanza, activities sim-
mered down to a double for Wingham
by Houghton, and Lockridge (Rae),
and a single for the visitors scored
by Purvis,
The seeond game of the playoffs
will be held at Kincardine on Wednes-
day, with a third game scheduled for
-Monday on Wingham ice.

fought game.
Mohawks Take
Exhibition Tilt
Wheeling into town Saturday night
for an exhibition encounter with the
Wingham Mohawks the Goderich
Semis Pontiacs were bested after
three fast periods by a 9 to 4 count,
The pace was not only fast but in its
later stages grew definitely furious
when Bill Lockridge of the local crew
and Gould of the visitors paused to
slug it out.
The game saw the debut of an all-
Stainton line, with brothers, Murray,
Morris and Neil carrying the attack.
Sangster in the Wingham net played
a stand-out game, and since the game
was not a league fixture Johnny
Crewson was able to don the Wing-
ham colours for the evening.
The first frame ended at the 5-2
Mark, tallies for Wingham being
credited to Ritter (Wilson); Morris
Stainton (Neil Stainton); Wilson

Morris Stainton); Lott, Lockridge
(.Lott); Murray Stainton (N. Stain-
ton). Penalties went to Wilson, Du-
hick and Gould.
' The only counters in the final per-
iod were nicked by Goderich marks-
men when Quinn got through alone
and Newcomb scored from Dubick's
