Huron County Health Unit
Immunization Clinic
The first in a series of immunization clinics for Wingham and
district will be held in the Town Hall, Wingham, Thursday,
January 29th, 1953, from 3.00 - 4.00 p.m.
Children 4 months of age to school age may be brought to these
clinics to receive initial immunization or reinforcing inoculatons
for Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus and Smallpox.
The second and third dates of this series are February 19th, and
March 12th, respectively.

ing of a hymn the Scripture reading
,Iwas taken by Mrs. Ross Anderson.
'Short prayers were given by Mrs.
'Cameron Walsh, Mrs. Harold Walsh,
Mrs. George Johnston, Mrs. Clifton
Walsh, Mrs. Ross Anderson, followed
by another hymn.
The chapter entitled "The Healing
Ministry" from the study book "Along
African Trails", took the form of an
interview with three medical mission-
aries stationed at three different hos-
pitals in Africa. Taking the part of
the missionaries in the interview con-
ducted by Mrs. Ross Anderson were
Mrs. James Walsh, Mrs. Ed. Wight-
man and Mrs. Harold Walsh. The
singing of a hymn and the benedie-

Mrs. McCrackin in her annual re-
port as treasurer of the organization,
stated that $620 was the amount rais-
ed from the various projects under-

W M S. and W.A.
The W.M.S. and W.A. met on Tues-
day afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Norman Thompson, with 15 ladies in
attendance, Mrs, Edwin Robinson was
in charge of the meeting which open-
ed by singing "Breathe on Me Breath
of God".
Mrs. William Hardy read as the
Scripture lesson, the first 13 verses of
the eleventh chapter of Luke and
Phillipians 9; 4-9. Mrs. E. Robinson
led in prayer, followed with the Lord's
prayer in unison, Mrs. Norman Thom-
pson contributed a reading entitled,
"A Happy New Year." Mrs. H. Jeffer-
son read an article on Christian Stew-
ardship. Mrs. Sam Thompson sang,
"It Is No Secret". Hymn 488 was then
sung. The chapters in the study books
were taken by Mrs. Morley Johnston
and Mrs. H. Jefferson.
The minutes of the last meeting
were approved as read. The treasurer
reported that the allocation of $70.00
had been forwarded and a donation of
$30.00 sent to the chairman of the
campaign committee for the new
'United Church Training School 'at To-
ronto. A 60 pound bale has been sent
for Korean relief. A former member,
Mrs. Thomas Bamford, of Goderich,
has been presented with a Life Mem-
ber's Certificate, Hymn No. 90 was
sung in closing and Rev. Mr. Wash-
ington pronounced the benediction.
The Library Association held their
annual meeting on January 15th. Mr.
Cloyne Higgins was re-elected chair-
man and Mrs. Harry Elliott and Mrs,
Mungo McFarlane were re-elected to
the board. Others on the board are,
Mrs. James Johnston, Mrs, Mary Mc-
Kinney and Rev. R. A. Brook.
A survey of the 396 books on the
shelves shows there are 308 fiction, 46
boys and girls, and 42 adult classed
books, Ten books were donated in
1952.
The circulation was as follows: fic-
tion, 582; boys and girls, 376; adult-
classed books, 113; this shows an In-
crease of 208 books over 1951.
The Financial statement shows a
balance of $533.52 in the treasury.
Mrs. Joseph Smith was re-elected
as librarian and sec.-treas.
The board is going. ahead with
plans to construct a new library and
it is hoped that during the year this'
will be done. Different projects to
raise money were discussed, and it
was decided to ask Dr. W. WI Hughes
naturalist, of Embro, to bring his
colored films of birds, insects and
flowers to entertain the community
with these beautiful pictures, The date
is not definitely set but it will be
some time in February.
