iPgge4t. The Wingham Advance-Times, Wednesday, Dec, 31, 19!i2 cemetery. A vote of thanks goes out
to Mr. OM Cook for his ce-eperation
and giving of time to this work, which

most gratifying response to the
appreciated by the members.
A
shower of Christmas Cheer to the
Children's Shelter was realized. A
word of thanks goes from the society
to all who contributed. A letter of
thanks from the Wingham Hospital
for the donation of 325.00 received
was read. This concluded the business.
Roll call "A Christmas Greeting"
in verse brought forth a good respon,
Se, followed with carol singing. A
motto, "Christmas Opportunities" was
read by Mrs. W, Armstrong. She stat-
ed, Christmas was more than a date
on the calendar. Its a season which
has special characteristics of climate,
which neither therometer or barome-
ter can measure. It is good sense and
good religion to make use of the op-
portunities Christmas brings, While
thankfulness is never out of season,
these are appropriate days for ex-
pressing it. Carol singing was again
! enjoyed, Mrs. E. Anderson conducted
a quiz period which created much
merriment. Mrs. N. Keating of Wing-
ham, read a Christmas Story, "Christ-
mas in a Modern Home," relating the
Bethlehem story in modern times and
he family's reaction when an immi-
grant boy was born in their home on
Christmas Eve. He received as poor
a •reception as the Babe of long ago.
The story made us wonder how we
ourselves would measure up to such
a test, Mrs. Jas. Michie conddeted
more carol singing. Mr, McDowell
was on hand to take a picture of the
members for 'the Tweedsmuir Book,
After singing the National Anthem,
' refreshments were served by Mrs.
' Michie, Mrs. K. Wheeler, Mrs. ,G.
[ Nicholson and Miss Edith Procter. A
social time -was enjoyed.
