James Gladstone Moir
Passes at Teeswater
This vicinity was shocked and sad-
dened to learn of the death of Jim
Moir, on Tuesday, November 25th.
He was an asthmatic sufferer all
his life and for many years had a
heart condition,
Jim Moir was born June 21, 1888, on
the 2nd. of Culrosp, and lived there all
his life until this summer, when he
sold the farm to Michael King and
moved to Teeswater.
To know Jim Moir was a great pri-
vilege, Of a quiet and retiring nature
and a bachelor he had the fine qual-
ities that established himself as a good
citizen and neighbor. He had a fine
herd of purebred Shorthorns, good
horses and other livestock that made
for good farming practices, He dis-
posed of his livestock many years ago,
but continued farming in a small way
in his later years of life. He loved
his old home and delighted in showing
visitors the well, pond and spring
which flowed from a huge rock under
his house.
To those who were close to him will
ever remember the happy boyhood
days spent with him. A diary of his
business and personal transactions
and other records are among his per-
sonal belongings.
His body rested at the home of his
sister, Mrs, Geo, Xing Sr, Requiem
High Mass was sung by Rev, Father
H. R. Brick who also preached an
eloquent sermon.
Burial took place in Teeswater Ro-
man Catholic Cemetery,
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs,
Geo. (Mary) King, Mrs. J. J. (Jessie)
Coflin, of Blaine Lake, Sask.; two
brothers Milas and John, Wingham.
One sister, Mrs, John O'Malley (Mar-
garet) and one brother, Alex,prede-
ceased him, Pallbearers were his
three nephews, Joseph O'Malley, Jim
Moir, Joe King, two neighbours, Les-
ter Falconer and Michael King and a
Personal friend, A. D. MacWilliam.
ST. PAUL'S LADIES' GUILD
HOLD BAZAAR
Although the weatherman didn't co-
operate, St. Paul's Ladies' Guild still
managed to hold a very successful tea
and bazaar in the parish room of the
church, on Wednesday afternoon.
A cheery atmosphere was created
by scotch pines, candy canes and
cones, decorating the rooms. The tea
table was attractively centred with
a bouquet of white mums and red
carnations, flanked by tall,' red and
white candles. The many tables were
loaded with home baking, aprons,
Christmas gifts and a well-stocked
country store.
Guests were received at the door by
Mrs. (Rev.) H. L. Parker and the
president, Mrs. Miller Davis.

tail-length strapless gown of peach

line and long pointed sleeves. A Juliet
cap of pleated white satin, edged with
pearls, held her finger-tip veil and she
carried white stephanotis centred with
pale pink roses.

low chrysanthemums with ivy, Mr,

Most Important Possession
At least 80% of our knowledge comes to us through the
eyes, Yet we are more careless about eyesight than
any other possession. Many people have defective
vision without even knowing it, Nothing is more
important than your own two eyes. Have them
examined once a year. Begin now.
