TOWN OF WINGHAM Municipal Election NOMINATION MEETING A meeting of the electors of the Town of Wingham for the nomination of candidates for the offices of Mayor, Reeve, Deputy Reeve, Six Councillors, Public Utilities Commissioner, and Four Trustees for the Public School Board will be held on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24th, 1952 at the Town Hall from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Candidates must be nominated in writing. The proposer and seconder must be municipal electors and be present at the meeting. If the proposed candidate is not present at the meeting, evidence that he consents to be so nominated must be attached to the nomination paper. At the Nomination Meeting, or before 9 o'clock P.M. of the same day, a candidate may resign in respect of one or more offices for which he has been nominated, by filing his resignation in writing with the Clerk, and, in default, he shall be deemed to be nominated for the office for which he was first nominated. All candidates for office shall file the required Declaration of Office .or. before .9 .,o'clock ..in ..the afternoon of Tuesday, November 25th, 1952. In the event that an election is required, it will be held on MONDAY, DECEMBER 1st., 1952 beginning at 9 o'clock in the forenoon and continuing until 5 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day at the places appointed therefor. Huribert, of Toronto, and Mrs. Hazel Roberts, of Toronto, spent Sunday with the former's daughter, Mrs. Whitney Grose and Mr. Grose. —Mrs. Norman Keating is in Tor- onto attending the annual meeting of the Provincial Board of the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario, which is being held in the Royal York Hotel on November 17th, 18th and 19th. —Mrs. N. J. Grose, of Toronto, spent Sunday with her nephew, Mr. and Mrs. W. Grose, at the Hotel Bruns- wick. Mr. Norman Doran, of Toronto, and cousin of Mr. Grose, was also a Sunday guest at the same residence. —Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Halliday, Mr, and Mrs. W. H. Haney and Miss Mary Pattison, of Wingham, and Mr. and Mrs. T. Leakey, of Kincardine, attend- ed the funeral of the late John John- ston, of Sterling, in Toronto on Mon- day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davidson left on November 14th to attend the National Water Well convention, which is being held November 18th. to 22nd., at the Buena Vista Hotel in Boloxi, Missi- issippi. Mr. Davidson is one of the dir- ectors cif the Ontario Water Well As- sociation. Smith Honored A farewell party was held at the home of Mrs. Bob Clark, Carling Ter- race last Wednesday evening, in honor of Mrs. Jack Smith, who is leaving shortly to join her husband, now working in Ottawa. Mrs. Smith was presented with a lovely salad dish, and those present were, Mrs. Lloyd Elliott, Mrs. Vin Dittmer, Mrs. John Strong, Mrs. Lorne Gardiner, Mrs. Mel Lavigne, Mrs. Scott Reid, Mrs. Bill Aitken and Mrs. Bob Clark.
