Edith Hastie Weds
John Blythe at Gorrie
A quiet wedding was held at the
home of Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Hustle,
Gorrie, when their eldest daughter,
Edith Marilyn, became the bride of
John Andrew Blythe, of Wingham,
son of Mr, and Mrs. Russell Blythe, of
Owen Sound. The Rev, W. J, V, Buch-
anan, of Gorrie, officiated,
The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore an autumn brown, wool
gabardine suit, green hat and acces-
sories. She carried a white Bible with
a spray of gardenias.
Miss Marilyn McLean, of London,
cousin of the bride, was her attend-
ant, wearing a cocoa-brown suit and
carrying a spray of yellow mums, Mr.
Ivan MacDougall, Kincardine, friend
of the groom, was best man.
After the reception, about twenty
guests sat down to the wedding din-
ner, The happy couple left for a short
honeymoon. Upon their return they
will reside in Wingharn.
Total budget of the Defence Re-
search Board for the fiscal year 1951-
52 was about $35,000,000 divided almost
equally between research and develop-
ment.
Government statisticians report that
$1,500,000 was collected in 1951. as the
result of special and anti-dumping
duties on textiles.
