Anglican Clergy Meet fibre
Rev. G. D. Vogan was host to the
Deanery of Huron Anglican Clergy
on Tuesday, The day started with a
celebration of Holy Communion fol-
lowed by business, dinner and a dis-
cussion period in the afternoon. Pre-
sent were, the Revs. Canon K. Taylor,
Goderich; H. L. Parker, Wingham;
Wm, Jones, Seaforth; B. Bramwell,
Blyth and N. Ellis, Brussels.
Thanksgiving was a very special
day this year for -the Hupfer family,
Their mother, Mrs. Robert Hupfer,
celebrated her 86th birthday on Mon-
day. All members of her family
visited their mother, including from
a distance, Miss Elva Hupfer, Sud-
bury, and Mr, and Mrs. Harry Hup-
fer, Detroit. A lovely birthday cake
and many greetings, gifts, and flow-
ers, were received. Twenty-five
American Beauty roses were the gift
of her son Harry, of Detroit, MrS.
Hupfer has been an invalid for some
years but Was able to enjoy callers
on this happy occasion. Mrs. Hup-
fer's many friends in the clommunity
join with her family in extending
good wishes, •

Spending the holiday week-end with

Silent and Alice Downey, Kitchener.
Alvin. Grainger and Leo Rotten re-
turned home on Saturday train Wes-
tern Canada, where they had been as-
sisting in the bountiful harvest.
Miss Verna Harris, Paris, spent a
few days with relatives and attended
the funeral of the late Mrs. Andrew
Doig on Tuesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Farrell, Bel-
lmore, visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Loutitt and attended the
Presbyterian Anniversary services.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Sperling, of
Bracebridge, "spent the Thanksgiving
holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Ferguson.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ford and family
of Ottawa, are visiting at the home
of Mr, Wm. Ford.
Thanksgiving and week-end guests
of the Cook families were Mrs. P.
Merklinger and Mr. Carl Cook of
Kitchener.
Miss Hilda Dreiher and Bob Nay, of
Kitchener, were holiday visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Musgrove,
Geo. Gregg, student at Toronto Uni-
versity, spent the holiday week-end
with his mother, Mrs. Vera Gregg.
Mr. and Mrs. Annie Scott and
Edith, spent Sunday with relatives at
Elyth.
Mr. and Mrs. Hec. Hamilton and
family, spent the week-end and holi-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Melville Bee-
croft at Otterville.

Mrs. McClement, Molesworth, were
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs.

est, was a holiday visitor .with her
mother, Mrs, N. Nash. Mr. and Mrs.

Sunday visitors at the same home.
Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Walmsley, Bar-
bara and Ronnie, spent the holiday
week-end with relatives at Brace-
bridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Death of Wes-
ton, were Sunday visitors with Mr.
and Mrs, Harry Frguson.
Women's Institute
Mrs. Guthrie Reid, of Teeswater,
will be the guest speaker when the
Women's Institute hold their October
meeting in the United Church school-
room at 2.30 Wednesday afternoon.
Roll call, "Everyone Has a Hobby—
What's Yours?" Members of the
Wingham Branch will be guests and
contribute numbers to the program.
All roads will lead to Wroxeter on
Saturday, when members of the W
hold their annual bazaar. The ladies
are hoping for good weather and a
large crowd,
Miss Ruth Brown spent the week-
end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Brown.

charge, In the evening a rally day
family gathering will be held in the
schoolroom at 7.30 o'clock, A short
worship service will be followed by
a discussion, a booklet display and
a film.
George Leckie, Mrs, Leckie is now
home from the hospital and her
many friends hope she will soon en-
joy better health,

Anniversary services at Teeswater
Presbyterian Church on Sunday and
were guests at the home of Mr, W.
H. Arkell,
Sunday School Supper
The annual Sunday school supper
will be held in United Church school-
room on Friday evening of this week.
Meat will be provided by the com-
mittee, Parents are asked to con-
tribute food for the supper. Two
pictures will be shown, Christopher
Mouse and The Story of Zaccheirs.
Teachers and officers of the Sunday
school hope a large representation of
parents and other friends will join
members of the Sunday school in this
special occasion.
Miss Elsie Davidson, Alliston, spent
the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Les
Douglas. Miss Davidson some years
ago was principal of the continuation
school here,
Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Weir,.Toronto,
spent the week-end with the former's
Mother, Mrs. W. E. Weir, and other
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Snell, of To-
ronto, visited over the week-end
with Mr. and Mrs. John Snell, Wrox-
eter South.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wylie spent
Monday in London with Mr and Mrs.
Mel Martin,
Mr. Ed Lambert has arrived home
ifrom the West. Ed. spent several
weeks in Melville, Saskatchewan.
Mr, and Mrs. Earl Baker and fam-
ily, of London, spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs, Stewart Higgins.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and
daughter of Hamilton, were week-end
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Newton.

week-end with Mr, and Mrs. William
Lowe (nee Irene Wright) •at Bark-
way, Muskoka,
United Church was suitably decor-
ated with fruit and flowers for the
Thanksgiving service on Sunday
morning with special music by the
choir, Rev E. W. Todd was in
charge.
Miss Gilberta Howes of the local
Bank of Commerce staff, is enjoying
a week's holiday with friends in
• Toronto.
Mrs. Alvin Moffat spent part of
last week with her daughter, Mrs.
George Seegmiller, and Mr. Seeg-
miller in Kitchener.
Thanksgiving visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Gibbon were Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Retell, Miss Bonnie Gib-
son and Mr, Leo Jetty, all of London.
Friends of Miss Mae Davidson will
regret to learn she is ,a patient in
Wingham General Hospital and will
wish for her a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wearring, To-
ronto, visited with Mrs. D. S. Mac-
Naughton and John during the week-
end.
Mrs, Gordon Gibson, accompanied
by Mrs. Gerry Gibson, of Wingham,
visited in London during last week,
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence White, To-
ronto, spent the holiday week-end
at their summer home here.
Chester Doubledee, a native of
Wroxeter, died in the General Hos-
pital, Palmerston. His funeral was
held in Harriston on Saturday. He
is survived by his wife, the former
Sarah Epworth, and four daughters.
Mr. Doubledee had lived at Brantford
and of later years at Harriston. Old

ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Dane, for

Mr. Arthur Chapman accompanied
his niece, Mrs. Alvaretta Wallace and
Mervyn, of Fordwich, to the funeral
on Monday of last week of a relative,
Harold Dorsch, 34, He died following
an accident while he was operating a
forage harvester. His home was in the
New Hamburg district. He leaves a
wife and four children, one 'a week-
old baby.
Mrs. A. Toner is visiting with the
Rev. S, R. and Mrs. Johnston, at
Thamesford.
