BANK,,
"My son has
chosen banking"
When a bank manager retired last year.
he wrote his General Manager to tell.
why he was proud his son also had,
chosen a banking career:
shall always recall my banking days'
with pleasure and I cannot think of
any other occupation that gives one a
greater opportunity to meet people ancL
form lasting friendships. I have been
privileged to serve the bank in three
provinces . . . Thatony son has chosen
banking is also a great satisfaction to me.,
He is most anxious to make good on
I his own account."
Any young man on the lookout for an.
interesting and worthwhile career—
for opportunities to grow and get
ahead—should take a look at banking?
Have a talk with the bank manager in
your neighborhood branch. It may well,
prove an important turning point in
your life.

second,quarter Wingham in their turn
got in scoring position, but here again
a costly MUSteng ft1111))10 kept them
from scoring, In the dying minutes of
the first half, Clinton got another
golden opportunity when they recover-
ed a Wingharn fumble on the Mus-
tangs five yard line, Here Clinton
tried a series pf plunges through the
line, but the Muatangs held them for
a total gain of only two yards for
their first two plays, On the third
down Clinton tried a spectacular
crash through the centre of sthe Mus-
tangs line, but again the line held.
Wingharn took over again on their
own fiye. The half closed with Wing-

At the beginning of the second half
Wingham hopes seem to reach an all
time low as the Mustangs started off
by fumbling twicewhile receiving the
hick-off. On their first play the Mus-
tangs fumbled again leaving Clinton
in possession of the Wingham 30.
Clinton started right off to make full
use of their advantage by making
seven yards on a quick end run. Their
next play was a handdown. Wingham
linemen now started to buckle down,
and Clinton Made practically nothing
on their next two tries. However, on
their last down the Clinton Quarter-
back threw a beautiful touch down
pass to make the score read Clinton
6, Wingham 0. Only a few minutes
later, the Mustangs recovered a fumble
from Clinton which left them in a very
good scoring position on the Clinton
30 yard line. Here Jack Hilbert caught
a 25 yard pass which left Wingham
sitting on the five yard line, On the
second play, Wingham's rookie Dave
Donahue smashed through centre for
a major to bring them within one
point of the Devils.
Mustangs Show Style
In the fourth quarter, the Mustangs
began to show the fast hard game
they are capable of playing. After
holding Clinton deep in their own end
they recovered a Clinton fumble on the
20 yard line. Here again a fumble
in the Wingham" backfield cost them
another chance for a T. D., but Stain-
ton tied up the score by kicking a
rouge. At this point the third ,unsuc-
cessful convert of the game was at-
tempted. The Mustangs caught the
kick-off on their own 30. On their
first attempt they made a first down.
with Grower running through centre
for 15 yards, Now the Clinton line
tightened up, to hold Wingham for
virtually no gain in two downs. On
the third down Wingham recovered
their own kick on the Clinton twenty,
and in a series of brilliant passes over'
centre they scorer' when Donahue I
again crashed over, Thus the game
ended with the score Wingham 11,
Clinton 6.
This victory put the Mustangs in a
first place tie with their old rivals,
Seaforth, who are also the next team
they meet. The general consensus of
opinion around Wingham District
High School is that if their team can
play the kind of ball they did in the
last quarter of Wedne'sday's game,
the long awaited championship may
be in sight.

Since Mr, Somerset Maugham has
stated that it is now very unlikely
that he will add any new short stories

in this art, the time has clearly ar-

the public, complete and as a 'whole,

Mr. Maugharn as himself arranged
the order in which they appear, in

each volume, he explains the princip-
