Wednesday, July 9th, when Miss Anne
Chamney of Belgrave, was one of the
graduates. Those attending the grad-

on winning the award for general pro-
ficiency.
Miss Lois Grasby has received word
from the Royal Conservatory of Mu-
sic of Toronto that she has passed
her music exams in Grade III History,
Grade IV Harmony and Grade X
Piano with honors.
Miss Joyce Armstrong is spending
holidays in London with her aunt and
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Messer.
Miss Annie Dunbar, Sault Ste.
Marie, Mich.,, is visiting with her
cousin, Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Dunbar.
Mr, John VanCamp, Barrie is at his
home here. \'
Mr. Jim Anderson, of Barrie is a
guest with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Anderson.
Mr. Lloyd Anderson, Barrie, is with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ander-

Miss Eileen Holmes, of London is
staying with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Holmes.
Mr. and Mrs, Fred Ried, of Varna,
is a guest with Mr. and Mrs. C. R,

Ronnie and Lorne Campbell have
returned home after spending the
past week in Thessalon with Mr. and
Mrs. Ed, Ansley.
Mr. William Wade, Fordwich, vis-
ited with Mr. and Mrs. C. Wade,
Mr, and Mrs. Jim Wightman and
Donald, Listowel, Mr, and Mrs. Har-
old Elliott, Larry and Jo-Anne, of
Bluevale, were guests with Mr. and

We are sorry to report that Flor-
ence Bacon ,daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Bacon, is in Wingham Gener-
al Hospital, having undergone an ap-
pendectomy last week,
Mr. and Mrs. Glen VanCamp were
in Port Elgin on Sunday.
Mies' Kay VanCamp has been spend-
ing the past two weeks with her sis-
ter, Mr. and Mrs .Ken Davison, at
Glencoe. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. VanCa.mP
were at London on Sunday.
Dr, and Mrs, J. A. Casper and Mrs,
Hebert, of Detroit, were recent visit-
ors with Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kinahan.
Mr. and Mrs, Maurice Edwards and
baby, of London, spent the week-end

staying for some holidays.

The July meeting of the Women's.
Institute was "Grandmothers' Day"
laid was held at the home of Mrs. T.
Abraham last Wednesday afternoon.
Where were 16 ladies present, Mrs,
Martin was convener and Mrs; Zinn
presided over the business period. The
roll call was "My First School Tea-
atter", and many and varied exper-
fences were told of the first year at
ilehool. Mrs. John Gowdy, a former
president, was a guest and led in a
discussion on "Memories of My
• Grandmother", recalling many of the
Changes that have taken place since
then.
Mrs. Elliott gave a report of the
district annual meeting at Kincardine
tind•Mrs. Zinn gave a reading, "Grand-
mother's Apron". Mrs. Martin pro-
- traded a suitable contest. It was de-
cided to send a parcel of used cloth-
ing.to a needy family in Greece, Mrs.
F. Johann was appointed convener of
a committee to collect material for a
Tweedsmuir Book,
The members were reminded that
hospitalization expires on August 1
and must be renewed by July 20th,
At Ale close of the meeting cookies
and lemonade were served by the con-
vener, Mrs. 1Vfartin.
Mrs. Wes. Magwood, of Hanover,
Mr. and Mrs. Alden Harris, of Owen
Sound, and Mr. Frank Barbour, of
Hepworth, visited their aunt, Miss El-
izabeth Butcher, on Monday.
Mrs. John Gowdy, of Teeswater, vis-
ited the past week with Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Zinn. She spent Thursday with
Mrs. Johann and Saturday afternoon
With Mrs. Harper.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Vogan, Nancy
and Wayne, of Moncton, N,B, are vis-
iting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jo-
seph Vogan, Mr. and Mrs. Rose Vo
gan and boys, of Grand Bend, were
also guests at the same home over
the Week-end.
Mr, and Mrs. Stewart Johann and
David, spent a few days holidaying
with Mrs. Johann and ',Wilfred over
the week-end,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jeffrey and
Margaret and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Wood and Kay were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. John Worden at Stratford
last Wednesday.
McIntosh W.A.
The July meeting of the McIntosh
W.A. was held Tuesday afternoon at
Mrs, Ivan Haskins' home with an at-
tendance of 14 members, two visitors
and 14 children, The meeting open-
ed with the hymn "Breathe on Me
Breath of God", followed by the Lord's
Prayer in unison. The afternoon was
spent in quilting and the meeting
closed with the singing of "Blest Be
the Tie that Binds", and the Mizpah
benediction. Lunch was served by
Mrs, Elmer Haskins, Miss Frances
Inglis and Mrs. Eldon Renwick and
a social half hour was enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ruth,erford and
John visited after church on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. James Darling and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Jeffrey and
family and Mr. Robert Jeffrey spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Wilfred
Weitz and Mrs. R, Jeffrey at Clifford.
The Metcalfe families held a re-
union at Leonard Metcalfe's home on
Sunday.
Mr, and Men. Ro'ss Vogan and sons
called on Mrs. Gowdy at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zinn on Sunday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McNeil and
Margaret Lynn, of near Brampton,
visited over the week-end with re-
latives here. Misses Ruth and Merle
Fitch returned home with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert McKay, of Lon-
don, spent the week-end with Mr.
and Mrs. W. Irwin.
Mr. and Mrs, Howard Nickel and
daughters, of Breslau, spent the week-
end with the former's parents, Mr. and
