Henderson, of Brussels. Mr. Hender-
son has been a member of LOBA for
48 years, joining in Maple Groves,
Ont., at the age of 22. Mr. and Mrs.
Henderson have been living in B.C.,
since his return from the First Great
War, 1914-18, and in Grand Forks
since retiring from farming two years
ago.

Mothercraft Hospital, where their
daughter, Jacquelyn, was one of the
graduating class.

training at the Hospital for Sick
Children in Toronto; Muir McLanoll-
ha of Sarnia, and Jack McLaughlin
of Ottawa, were holiday visitors at

and Miss Mary Tofting, who is
taking a course at the Pre-Teachers'
College, in Toronto, spent the week-
end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.
Tofting. Miss Mary Tofting is going
to teach school at Omemee, about 12
miles outside of Peterborough,
—Miss Delores Hamilton recently
received word that she had success-
fully passed Toronto Conservatory,
grade LX piano and grade M. har-
mony with first class honours, At
present she is attending a summer
emit se in Toronto, taking a teacher's
course in music methods for public
schools.

The service in Knox Presbyterian
church on Sunday morning was con-
ducted by Rev. R. A. Brook of the
'Gaited Church. He spoke from John
4:6; the story of Jesus resting at
Jacob's well, where the woman of
Samaria came and gave him a re-
freshing drink, and she in turn ac-
cepted Christ and became a Christian.'
This showed how blessings can come
from periods of rest. A ladies' choir
sang an anthem.
Mrs. W. J. Johnston has returned
home from a five-week visit with her
sisters and other relatives at Glad-
stone, Manitoba, and at Woodrow,
Sask,
Miss Jean Hall has accepted a posi-
tion on the staff of the Dominion
store at Wingham.
Two ball games were played on the
local park here this week, the first
game, Ethel came off victorious and
in the second Bluevale won a smash-
ing victory over Belmore,
Mrs. Elsie Lamont is visiting her
sister, Mrs. Nelson Cardiff, at Brus-
sels,
Mr. Bert Davidson, Cartwright,
Manitoba, and Mrs. William Reid and
daughter, Mrs. Elgin Porter, of Bay-
field, were recent visitors with Mrs.
Arthur Shaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Beecroft and Mr. and
Mrs. MacLean, Edmonton, Alberta,
visited this week with their cousin,
George and Mrs. Thornton, The ladies
are sisters, daughters of the late Mr.
and Mrs .Chris Thornton, of Blue-
vale. Mr. and Mrs. J. Marshall and
two daughters, of Listowel, were
guests at the same home.
Mrs. W J, Johnston visited Mr. and
Mrs. Milton Watson at Gorrie, on
Sunday.
Mrs. R. P. Garniss spent a day re-
cently with her cousin, Mrs. C. H.
Garniss, at Seaforth, and is visiting
this week with her daughter, Mrs.
Neil McEachern, and family at Clif-
ford.

with Miss Flora Stewart at the home
