Mrs, Allgood, Maxine, Reginald, and
Roxie of Burford, spent the week-end
at the home of the former's daughter,
Mrs, Walter Bell. Roxie is staying to
visit for two weeks. Little Lynne and
Lea Ellen Wilson, of Kincardine, are
also visiting with their aunt, Mrs, Bell,
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Caldwell and
, and Mrs. Gordon. Caldwell, of
Blyth, spent Sunday at the home of
the former's daughter, Mrs. Wm, Rill-
toul. •
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falconer, Mr.
Ross MacGregor, and Miss Isabel El-
liott spent Sunday at Wasaga Beach.
Mr. and Mrs, Robt, Hinkle, Donna,
John and Ronald, of Detroit, spent the
week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Tiffin,
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence,of Simcoe,
spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs.
E. H. Groskorth, and with their
daughter, Dianne, at summer camp at
Kintail.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Payne and
Raymond, of Toronto, visited on Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin
Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, and
Sandra, and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Mc-
Greigor, and Bruce, spent the weekend
at Starrow Lake, near Orillia, at the
home of Mrs. McGregor's sister, Mrs.
Edward Leader. Bruce stayed to visit
for two weeks,
Little Joy Conley, of LAgside, is
visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Herb Laidlaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin McClenaghan,
Miss Kay Calder and Mr. Jack La-
mont, of St. Thomas, spent the week-
end at the home of the former's par-
ents, Mr, and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan.
Miss Sumi Iwamoto Reg. N., of To-
ronto, spent last Tuesday with Miss
Mildred McClenaghan, at the latter's
home here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Falconer, Wing-
ham, Mr. and Mrs. Calvert Falconer,
Blyth, and Mrs. John Falconer of
Caledon, were in London on Monday
attending the funeral of the latter's
niece, Mrs. Walter Armstrong, of
Kintore.
Lev. and Mrs. Robert Waft and chil-
dren, of Mitchell, are visiting for a
few days this week with his parents,
Rev, and Mrs. W. J. Watt. Mr. and
Mrs. Archie Watt and children, of To-
ronto, visited here and with Dungan-
non relaitves.

The Falconer and McInnis families
from this district turned out last
Tuesday for the family picnic gather-
ing, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Calvert Falconer, of Blyth. Mrs, Geo,
Fisher and Mr, 1:ian Tiffin were con-
veners for the sports committees,. with
Mr, Cecil Falconer as leader for the
occasion'. Mr. Falconer was appointed
president for next year, Mrs, John
Falconer received the prize for the
oldest person present,
Little Richard Norman Falconer,
son of Mr. and Mrs, Joe Falconer, of
Palmerston, received the prize for the
youngest person present. Mrs. (Rev.)
Gallagher and little son, John, of Tex-
as, received the prize for coming the
greatest distance. Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Falconer, and their children, received
the prize going to the largest family
present. All enjoyed the picnic lunch
and the family recollections. Many
from Brick United Church attended
the induction services for Rev. Cox at
Belgrave, on Friday evening,
PERSONALS
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petrie, of
Herkm,er, New York city, visited over
the week-end at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward McBurney and will visit
with other Yuill relatives.
Miss Jessie Finlayson, of Egmond-
vine, spent the week-end with former
friends in E. Wawanosh,
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Farrier are
spending this week at the home of
their son, Mr. Carman Farrier, of
Long Branch.
Mrs. Ezra Scholtz was the lucky
holder of the winning ticket at the
Wallpaper Shop, Wingham, last week.
Mr. and Mrs, Malcolm Ross, and
Mary Ellen, Janet and Ian, of Galt,
visited on Sunday, with his mother,
Mrs. Mac Ross.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hayes and son,
Dewane, of Detroit, and Mrs, Russell
Proctor, and David and Dianne, all of
Detroit, spent a few days last week at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Ritchie, and 'with other Tiffin rela-
tives an Kinloss.
Miss Myrtle Beecroft of New Lon-
don, Conn., arrived here on Tuesday
I to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bee-
; croft, and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Bee-
',croft.
I Mr. Charles Mitchell, of Vancouver,
is visiting this week at the home of
his niece, Mrs. Gordon Elliott,
Dr. and Mrs. Donald Watt of To-
ronto spent the week-end here with
his parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. J. Watt.
They left on Monday to motor to Van-
couver, where they get the boat for
the Queen Charlotte Islands, B.C.,
I where Dr. Watt will have supervision
of a United Church Mission Hospital
for the next two years. There are over
a thousand of the Haida tribe of In-
dians, and over 2,500 white people on
the islands. His many friends in this
district will wish them success in this
new venture. On Sunday he assisted
his brother, Rev, George Watt, on his
Dungannon and Crewe appointments,
and tolcl of what the missionary work
means to these faraway parts of the
United Church. On Saturday, Mrs.
Wm. G. Lines and her daughters, Mrs.
James Good and Miss Gladys Lines,
and little Susan McQueen, all of To-
ronto, visited with the former's daugh-
ter, Mrs. Donald Watt at the home of
Rev, and Mrs. Watt.
Miss Winnifred Farrier, of Toronto,
spent last week with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. R. Farrier, and left on
Monday to take the summer course in
primary methods, at Ottawa. After
September, Miss Farrier will teach
kindergarten work at the John Ross
Robertson school in Toronto.
Little Donna Gillespie of Wingham
had her tonsils removed in Wingham
Hospital on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cameron, of
Lucknow, accompanitd by their
daughter, Mrs. Mason Robinson
of E. Wawanosh, left hurriedly on Fri-
day after receiving a call from Powas-
son ,telling of the serious condition of
the former's son, Mr. Glenn Cameron.
Mr. Cameron passed away before they
reached there on Saturday morning.
The funeral was held on Tuesday
Powasson. Mr. Ralph Cameron, and
several former Ashfield neighbors, Mr.
Wm. Purdon, of St. Helens and %Ir.
Mason Robinson, left on Monday to
attend the funeral, Besides his wife,
he leaves a young family of five sons
and one daughter. The many friends
of the families in this district, extend
sympathy to the bereaved ones.
Mr. Roy McGee of Kitchener spent'
the week-end with his father, Mr.
Henry McGde and Gordon.
Rev. and Mrs. W. J. Watt attended
the induction services for Rev. Robert
Watt at Mitchell United Church on
Wednesday last,
Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Beecroft of Ed-
monton arrived last Thursday to visit
at the home of his brother, Mr. J. D.
Beecroft, and with other relatives here
and in the Bluevale, Brussels, Goder-
ich, and Wroxeter districts. It is over
forty years since Mrs. Beecroft (nee
Mary Thornton) left with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Thornton of Blue-
vale to make their home at EdmonA
ton. Her sister and her husband, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack McLean of Edmonton,
arrive here on Wednesday and all
leave at the week-end to motor home
to Alberta by way of Niagara Falls
and Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs, Archie Purdon spent
Sunday at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Webster Jacklyn, of
Wroxeter.
Miss Florence Beedroft, of Toronto,
spent the week-end with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. 3. D. Beecroft.
Me' and Mrs. Perry Thompson, of
